Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort and Spa

What a wonderful experience. While the property and accommodations are beautiful, it’s the staff that makes the experience. The beach/grill staff, specifically Jimmy, Caesar, Carlson and Willard, went over and above to care for our family. Every single day. We would come back to this property just for them. Additionally, Witsell and Emma at the front desk made sure all our questions were answered. They were prompt and responsive always. And a shout out to Percy - we loved him. Looking forward to our next visit here.

I struggled with what to rate this property. The hotel itself is lovely -- very large rooms with balconies overlooking the ocean (my room was entry level and had a separate bedroom, full kitchen, large balcony and a water cooler (nice touch)); a beautiful pool; large, well-equipped gym; nice spa; and good restaurants. If I reviewed the hotel in a vacuum, I would give it 5 stars. But the hotel is very expensive (when you add in resort fees and taxes, it is well over $700 a night for an entry level room if you prepay - more if you don't). And for that cost, I expect a large private beach, a tub in the bathroom, and enough chaise lounges for the number of guests. The Kimpton, though lovely was on a long (but not wide) public beach filled with other hotels all butting up against one another. There were tons of people and not a lot of space. And there were a lot of security guards guarding the property at the beach area, which made me feel slightly uncomfortable. Additionally, the hotel does not have enough chaise lounges and all were reserved by early rising guests by the time I got down to the pool r beach at 10am. And, as large as the bathroom is in the room it only has a shower and no bath. Move this hotel to a private beach and add chaises and I would happily pay the $700 for the room/night. But as it is, I would much rather got a resort in Hawaii, Mexico, or the Caribbean and have a more relaxed, private, luxurious experience.

The Grand Roatan is absolutely beautiful. What made it extra special, though, was the wonderful staff. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted at the reception and offered a delicious cold pineapple drink. We enjoyed many island activities based on the recommendations of Concierge Lea. After asking us about our interests, she booked tours which we greatly enjoyed. We received an enthusiastic greeting from Lea every day of our stay. We stopped by the Sea Cat several times during our vacation. While the food was very tasty, we especially looked forward to our interaction with server Cesar. He has such a genuine welcoming way about him. When visiting the Grand Roatan, you'll be well taken care of by the staff, especially these two excellent employees.

We decided to head down to the Kimpton Grand Roatan to celebrate our anniversary and could not have picked a better beach destination! The property itself is located in an ideal location with a pristine beach and crystal clear ocean views. Our spacious suite came complete with a deck and plunge pool. We also enjoyed yoga classes on the third floor deck and a couples massage at the luxurious spa. As beautiful as the resort is, the overall service was even better as the entire staff was laser focused on ensuring that we had an amazing experience. Special shout outs to Angie, Mitzi and Laura from the first-class front desk crew and Luisa, Jair and Lovelee at the Alera restaurant. It was so sad to leave and we are already planning our return visit!

There really aren’t enough words to describe this special place. I was here celebrating my 50th birthday with my family and my first time staying at a Kimpton Hotel. The grounds were absolutely stunning!! The staff amazing!! From Lia at the front desk, to the bellmen Chris, Jordan, Joshua. The waitstaff at Alera-Delmi, Arthur, Ricky, Alejandro, Logan and Carlos with the tasty omelettes. August the pool and beach attendant.. Percy the shuttle driver..The ladies at the spa.. Tarnisha, Jackie…These are some of the nicest people on the planet. Thank you for such an incredible experience. You all truly made my 50th birthday so memorable and we hope to be back again soon!

What a great stay in the hotel. The property has been newly remodeled with great taste and the scenary is astonishing. Could not enjoy more the views at the beach in different moments of the day, to the sunset summit. Food is great and the variety of restaurants offer great options we could complement with other options in West Bay. Snorkeling with the kids is a must. It is a real wonder to have the coral reef so close to shore!!! The staff is very friendly and you can feel the excitement for them to be working for the best hotel in the island. We had a fabulous time at the Kimpton Grand, firstly the hotel is just incredible, it’s modern and clean with a hint of local decor which makes it special. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. There was a large buffet breakfast and the food at the restaurant was first class. The pool area is large with plenty of loungers which the staff set up for you and then you are just a few steps away from the beach. We also loved the happy hour on the veranda at 5pm, a great way to mix and meet other guests. But what was most impressive about the hotel was the staff, they could not have been more attentive. Anything we needed we only had to ask and it was arranged, whether it was a taxi or reservations at local restaurants. We were treated like kings!

This was an absolutely amazing vacation. We had an amazing time and the hotel was way better than we had expected. The breakfast service could really use some improvement, but i will not let that take away our great experience. Thanks to Freddy and Arnold (SeaCat) for making our time awesome. AMAZING resort! I would not change one thing about our stay! We were in a 2 bedroom condo, a family of 4 with 19 & 20 year old kids!! The grounds were beautiful, tropical & breathtaking! The concierge, Leah, was extremely helpful in answering questions & booking dinner reservations for us!! She was joyful & had the sweetest disposition!! We also enjoyed taking the hotel shuttle to & from restaurants...it was so nice & easy! Christopher was the most personal bellman, felt like we had known him forever!! And I must mention the fabulous breakfasts in the most plush of settings...incredible buffet with fresh everything! We will never forget our server Teddy...the best smile ever & wonderful, attentive service!!! The pool & beach guys especially Alexis went above & beyond setting up chairs & were always asking if you needed anything!!! They were so friendly & pleasant!! We loved our lunches in the Sea Cat everyday!! Like I said, I have nothing but positive feedback!! I must also mention the gym!!!! Wow!!! It was spectacular!! We will definitely be returning the good Lord willing! The hardest thing was leaving & re entry into reality!!!
