The Elegant Hotel

The owner of the property and his son Salih was very helpful and very kind. Even though they couldn’t speak fluent English but managed to communicate. Very nice staff members and the guy who helped with luggage.every time you sit in the lobby you get free tea 😊.property is very clean and nicely built , rooms and very spacious.I had double bed room but was very big with a seperate living/dressing area within the room.Eyup sultan turbesi/mosque is hardly 5 mins walk . Excellent in every way I would say.the only trouble we had was getting a taxi as this area always have issues with getting taxi on the Bitaksi app. So we walked towards the main road and got taxi after 5 -10 mins of standing there. Overall experience was excellent, I did not have breakfast so don’t know about the food but will definitely stay here and would recommend to others too.

The boy at the reception asked for our marriage certificate when we asked if there’s a room available, no couples bring the marriage certificate with them while traveling. This is my first time encountering this type of behavior in turkey.

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in a very safe part of Istanbul, I would highly recommend this hotel. There are lots of restaurants all around, and this is a more conservative part of Istanbul, which I found refreshing. Everyone at the hotel was very hospitable. And the price was great. Also, there is a commuter train nearby which get you closer to the main parts of Istanbul.

Friendly and convenient hotel. Not too extravagant, just right. For those with interests around Eyüpsultan, The Elegant hotel is the best value-for-money choice. Facilities are neat, clean and reasonably spacious. Even though breakfast options are limited there are several cafes within 5 to 8 minutes walk all around offering various choices. Elegant in name, elegant in its style. WiFi is good. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are cleaned regularly. Staff always welcoming and helpful, any time of day or night.

Very close to Eyup mosque. But staff not familiar with what was included in room and double charged me on things, even after I explained to them.

The location of the hotel is excellent, just a few mins away from Hazrat Eyup Tomb.Area full of shopping facilities and excellent food options

On July, 6th 2021 I booked a room through ******* to stay at The Elegant Hotel for me and my Fiancé while touring Istanbul. I had one week booked through *******. ******* did not have listed on their website prior to booking that you needed to present a marriage certificate in order to stay in this hotel. I checked in at the desk and they gave me a room key, I didn’t use the room but waited outside at a local restaurant where my Fiancé’ shortly met me. We walked back to the hotel to head to our room for the night when we were stopped and asked to present a marriage certificate. Needless to say they wouldn’t allow us to go to the room that we had a key for after I had already checked in and they gave me a key. We were put in a really tough situation with no place to stay and now short on money due to this. I asked for a refund and they said I had to contact with *******, ******* denied my refund due to their "Early Check out policy" , I did not stay at this hotel or use any of their services. We were not permitted to stay due to their marriage rules, these rules were not stated prior to booking this hotel on *******. The Elegant hotel took my money, checked me in and checked me out within 2 hours without any refund and without us ever stepping foot into a hotel room. I am disputing the charge with my bank now. I do not recommend this hotel if you're American they are extremely rude and make sure you feel unwelcomed. The off street parking is impossible.
