The property is old, outdated and not cared for. Dirty cups and food baskets were left outside on small tables around the property for days.
Our room had several issues - A/C was blasting and remote did not work, was making so much noise we couldn't hear each other speak. When they finally came to "repair" all they did was give us a remote that worked, and shut the unit off (well, off helped with the noise, but when we turned it back on, the noise continued). The A/C unit was spewing out black rubber particles from the belt. We were actually concerned the unit might go on fire. I am not exaggerating. There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling. The shower leaked badly, saturating the floor mat which needed to be wrung out - just what you want to do on vacation. Why not ask for a new mat, Oh, we did!! And we waited, and waited. Why not ask for a new room?? Ohh, you are funny! the bathroom light went out - not just a bulb issue. They came to replace the balast. They made a muddy mess on the bathroom floor (remember, the leaks). They said they would have housekeeping come. Yeah, right. We had to call for that.
The few employees who were nice were really lovely, but most were so indifferent to the guests. Food was just OK. Bar service was ok. The beach was nice.
Yes, I know, poor us. We spent a week in Antigua, boo hoo. But really, such basic things that shouldn't be, only adding to the deterioration of this hotel.
Definitely a one and done for us.
