The place is very rustic and off the beaten track. The service was super and the safari trips were outstanding. Food very good. Would highly recommend if you want a camping type experience. Rooms are air-conditioned. Tea and drinking water provided in the rooms. WiFi available and while not great…better than nothing. The team is passionate about what they do and look to offer a wonderful experience.

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon. It could not be better and was best part of our trip. The whole experience was amazing. We had a private meal for two in the tree tops by candle light. Life could not get better! I would highly recommend to anyone.

Wow! The 20-minute off-road jeep drive to reach the camp was very definitely worth it. A brilliant setting and a real ‘glamping’ experience. The service was exceptional, and the food was the best we had during our two weeks in Sri Lanka - including an evening meal under the stars. We did an afternoon and a morning safari, plus an early morning bush walk. A real highlight of our holiday. Congratulations to the whole team at Makini.

Very dedicated and passionate team who will do anything to make your stay a pleasure ! Delicious food, great tents. Everything was great despite the rain. I highly recommend doing the safari organised by the hotel, very comfortable and great expertise.

Makini Bush Camp is a true haven for nature lovers. Set amidst the stunning natural beauty of Yala National Park, the camp offers a serene and rejuvenating experience. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, spacious and feature awesome plunge pools. The Safari tour of Yala National Park and the campfire dining experience were a highlight for me. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall stay. The camp also has easy access to nature trails in the area which are well worth doing during your stay. Overall, it's a paradise for those seeking a peaceful escape and a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. I will definitely be back in the future.

I can’t get over how amazing Makini camp was. From the staff to food to safari — they made sure everything from start to finish was enjoyable. David went above and beyond to make our trip enjoyable. They even put together a memorable Fourth of July night for us. Great group of people here, you won’t regret staying here. Definitely go in the bush hike in the morning. It was such a beautiful peaceful hike steps away from the campsite.

Unforgettable experience. Everything we wanted in a safari bush camp experience. Amazing service, accommodations, food, and best of all safari experience. With the help of our great guide Devaka we saw all of the Sri Lanka big 5 and much more. Also did 2 bush hikes around camp that had some breathtaking views. Can’t say enough wonderful things about Devaka as he went above and beyond in every aspect to make our experience memorable. The staff even went as far as to throw us a 4th of July party . Really can’t recommend this place enough. You won’t be sorry for choosing Makini

It is a secret treasure surrounded by forest. The place is very calm and peaceful. The tents are very attractive and we had a great stay. It’s no less than staying in africa. Our food preferences and needs were met by Devaka, the person who take care of us for the whole time. He always took care of little details and we were really happy to have him throughout our journey. He even paid attention to my daughter and mother’s needs. He has a tremendous knowledge of birds in Yala. Makini is strategically located near to Yala Block 5 gate and the other side of block 1, where the crowd is not there.

We spent one night at Makini and had an amazing time. Chamith and his team did very well in making our stay a memorable one. Safari and bush walk were full of memorable experiences and it was great to learn about all . We had two jeeps for safari and was lucky enough to sight Leopards and close encounter with giant elephants . The service was amazing and all above expectations.Tents were very clean and comfortable. Food was authentic local cuisine which was very tasty, probably the tastiest food I’ve ever had in my life. Thank you Chamith and team for unique and memorable experience !!!
