We usually go to the flagship hotel, Lodore Falls but decided to try the Kings Arms for a change. The quality of the room was similar with great decor, comfy beds and luxurious bedding. The staff were far more friendly and welcoming. They could not have been better. We enjoyed the food for both dinner and breakfast.

We had a nice meal here, burger and fish platter. Both were very good. Nice decor with comfy seating. Always managed to get a seat at the bar or a table in the restaurant even when other places were full. Is that a good sign?? Not much atmosphere, but great music playing in the bar and we liked it here.

A lovely evening out hosted by Sharron and Nigel, who were so welcoming and attentive. Shame there were only 2 staff on, as they were rushed off their feet, as we had a long wait to be served- so don't come here if you're expecting quick service!

We visited early this week, we arrived 10 minutes before it was time to serve food so we sat and had a drink first. At 12:00 we ordered a fish and chips and chicken kebab. We were the only ones in the pub for a good half and hour which was nice. However despite being the only ones in food took 45 MINS to arrive. A couple who had come in at 12:30 had received their food before ours. Food was nice but not worth the 45 minute wait. Would hate to go when it’s busy if that’s how long it takes when quiet. Was nice but wouldn’t rush to return.

We were warmly welcomed and efficiently checked in on arrival and instantly knew the new manager was an improvement on the surly man we met in summer. Nigel and his small team of 2, despite being so obviously understaffed for the 2 days of our stay, couldn't do enough for us and made our short break a great one. We will be back!

Called in for an impromptu lunch. Hadn't checked reviews on here which was a mistake. Got seated no issues and ordered food. So far so good. We weren't made aware Sunday lunch was available which was an oversight by our server. So we ordered and waited. And waited. And waited. I lost track of time tbh but at 1245 my wife thought we'd been waiting about 30 minutes. Food arrived about 1305 ish. Its a long wait with two hungry children to placate. Eldest wanted to run over to Greggs for a snack. In fairness he should have as when his meal arrived he was slightly disappointed. He opted for mash with his steak pie as opposed to chips. Must have been lucky if there was one tablespoon of mash present. By now though he's hangry and just started eating. The food we received was OK. It was hot and tasted fine but portion size a slight issue. I had a giant yorkie with shoulder of beef. It tasted fine but there was one piece of beef about the same size as my phone. Special thanks to Aunt Bessie for the yorkie though. At £18 per main perhaps my expectations are too high and all you get is a pie, one scoop of mash and some veg? So not the worst but equally not the best, wouldn't rush back. Yes I probably should have said something at the time but didn't, kids were starving and by now our parking time was being eaten into so we ate and left. Plus there was none of the usual "is everything OK with your meal" follow up so I missed the chance to flag up. Plus theres plenty of places in keswick to buy a second takeout lunch after eating here if you are still peckish, but only after you've paid for more parking as an hour of you stay has been taken up politely waiting. Also it's a non starter for anyone with mobility issues. I asked where the disabled toilet was and was told there wasn't one.

On first impressions we really liked the look of the bar/room. The bar was bright (although the lightening was a bit too bright especially in the evening), warm and found the staff welcoming. We were there for a 2 night stay. The room was lovely, a little small but we spent most of our time out walking so it didn't matter. It was very clean and the beds were comfy. The only downside on our visit was the room was so warm we had to leave the window open. On the Friday night the pub over the road had music on until after midnight and then the kebab shop next door got very busy. It quietened down around 1am which wasn't too bad but then we were woken at 4am with the arrival of the market. Lots of metal poles dropped on the ground, vehicles arriving, lots of people. We did not get back to sleep even with the ear plugs provided. If the room hadn't been so warm and there had been an option of a fan we may of slept. Overall we had a lovely few days in Keswick, everyone was really friendly, the food was good and we were made to feel very welcome.

My friends and i came here for tea on Saturday evening, understandably it was busy however they told us we had a table ready. First of all the scottish lady who was our waitress for the evening was extremely rude towards me and my friends she had told us because we all added something extra which we were able too for an extra £2 that we were going to be hated by the chef and this was in a very rude manor not joking towards us at all. We all paid £21 each for a burger that tasted no better than a weather-spoons and we waited over 1 whole hour for this food. we noticed it wasn’t just us that had had a bad experience either as the table next to us were also complaining. At the end of the meal we got asked if we had enjoyed and i had mentioned how none of us had enjoyed it and weren’t impressed with the price and the waiting time for the food we got and in response we got “well why didn’t you say anything when you tried it” maybe because we had been out walking from 9am and waited over an Hour for our food. my friends yorkshire pudding that she ordered was a frozen one topped with frozen veg and packet mash, my and my other friends ordered burgers which like i said was no better than a £6 meal from spoons or mcdonals, actually that would’ve been better. the burgers were dry and the chips also just frozen after being described as thick cut chips. After complaining we never got offered any money of our bill which was way over £100 on just meals. We left very disappointed and unsatisfied with the food and the service 100% do not recommend if you are wanting a nice evening meal.
