Great wee hotel. Nicely decorated room with tea/coffee facilities, lovely added extra of disposable slippers. Toiletries also supplied in the modern bathroom. Breakfast was available and you chose what you wanted from a menu left in the room, then handed it into reception. Plenty of choice for selection. Breakfast was fabulous, so tasty, the locally sourced items make a huge difference. Lovely cocktail selection in the bar area too. Staff were all really nice and easy to chat to.

I booked dinner in the restaurant on Saturday 6th April or myself and two friends who live locally. I previously lived locally but have been out of the area for many years, so was back for a visit. My cajun crepe was lovely and one friends red thai curry was also nice. However, my other friend had the burrito bowl which she was unable to finish as it was way too hot. She said she is used to spicy food but this was far far too hot. One of the staff approached us early on while we were eating and we said it was all fine, as my friend was not feeling confident about complaining. She ate less than half her meal. My other friend said to the waitress that it was unfair she was unable to finish it and she called her manager over. Her customer service was shocking, she was passive aggressive and it was, in my opinion, not handled professionally. She insisted it was served to other people and nobody had said it was too hot. She insisted we were complaining for no reason. Our total bill was 96 pounds. We intended to stay for more drinks but left because of the attitude and confrontational aporoach taken towards us. We were polite in trying to put across our point. This lady then stropped about and told us to pay at reception. Not happy, and spoiled our reunion night!

Nat , Dan and all the staff and so attentive here . You can tell it’s family run and they certainly go above and beyond. We had dinner in the restaurant and asked if we could change a few things and we were accommodated . The food was absolutely delicious as was breakfast the following day! It has a lovely , relaxed atmosphere here and we felt very comfortable! The rooms have everything you need and are very clean . We slept so well . The owner Dan even picked us up from the wedding venue! They are so passionate about this place and you can see this in everything they do . We would highly recommend this place 100% and if we are up this way again would definitely stay! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay !!

Had the pleasure of trying lunch today at this family restaurant , Were lucky enough to have won a voucher at a recent hospice charity event ! We had the tattie scone nachos and haggis bonbons as starters , both delicious ! Followed by mushroom and brocolli pasta dish and a wonderful smoked burger with bacon , cheese and fries . Food was excellent , great portion sizes and staff were very friendly

Stayed for 1 night. Room was great....large room/comfy bed/fantastic shower and a good selection of toiletries. Menu for dinner was extensive and the food that we chose was excellent. The cosy bar is great for some drinks at night. Breakfast was substantial and very tasty. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend the hotel.

As regular visitors, we were disappointed at how quiet the dining room was, and the general lack of atmosphere within what was always a busy, lively and active hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the facilities were very poor. My partner used the ladies toilet downstairs, and one cubicle was closed, and the other was overflowing. The meals were ok, but the drink prices were very high so we were a bit disappointed having made the effort to return.

Lovely place and staff are great. However, the menu is very dull. Drastically needing a change. Main courses from £15 upwards, doesn’t represent good value. Particularly for pasta or noodles. Many of the old favourites have disappeared over the years, such as mini mixed grill, chicken escalope with mushroom sauce and lasagne. There is now nothing on the main menu to suit me.
