Set on a hillside with stunning views, this guesthouse gives you the opportunity to get away from it all and relax completely. The staff at reception, in the restaurant and for wine tasting are amazingly friendly and make you feel so welcome. Our room had a problem upon check in and the staff not only resolved this but delighted us by upgrading our room. We had our evening meal at Marianne and the lady looking after us was so friendly, doing everything to ensure we were happy. The swimming pool was stunning and the views from there were amazing. I would totally recommend this place, the only disappointment was that we were not staying longer than one night.

Our stay at Marianne Wine Estate was impromptu but an amazing find! We arrived within an hour of booking and we couldn’t have been made more welcome. All the staff without exception are friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and a huge comfy bed. Gorgeous views! We only had breakfast but it was lovely. Freshly cooked and a nice buffet selection too. We only stayed 2 nights but could have easily stayed a week. Hopefully next trip!

An eye catcher, but don’t look closer… It looks gorgeous on the outside, the gardens are beautiful, the region is amazing and it all promises a great stay. Only cleanliness and service are way below expectations… The Accommodation and everything involved has left us disappointed so far

We arrived 15 minutes before check in time for a single night stay to be taken to our unit only to find cleaning staff hadn’t even begun preparing the room . An alternate room was given to us which we had to take as we were attending a wedding in the area and had limited time to prepare for. The room is designed with an open plan bathroom connected to sleeping area. I personally find this incredibly unhygienic and quite frankly disgusting. The fridge in our unit was also not working . South Africa today is under an electricity rationing system known as load sharing which currently lasts for 4 hours at a time. It’s in unacceptable for any entity offering guest accommodation in South Africa today not to have at least an inverter system to cater for the power blackouts. The units at Marianne are also dependent on electricity to provide water to units which is unavailable during load sharing as the management has made no provision to cater for this. Lastly breakfast is served starting at 8:30 am which is find incredibly late for a working farm.

this was one of the nicest stays at an on-site vineyard we have ever visited (and we do like to visit vineyards all over the world - and a extra bonus was meeting and chatting the French owner who was on site at the harvest time.

We came for a wine tasting but had to wait a very long time between tastings. The service was poor and the flies more than a nuisance. This is our second time to the wine farm and sadly the poor service and flies were a dealbreaker for both visit. We will not be coming back. They can definitely improve on the service and maybe invest in shooaway fly repellent.

Bad wine tasting experience from Mery, biltong came at the end of tasting, no apology and she was arrogant. Unacceptable behavior at a big establishment like this. I wonder if they give service training to their staff.

My husband and I recently stayed at Marianne Wine Estate, and everything was beyond expectation. The beauty of the setting, the "stillness," the views, the wine tasting the hospitality made for such a special stay. Anneline made sure everything was perfect and went beyond the call of duty. We will most definitely be back and are grateful for the "recharging of the soul" we felt after our stay.

I went to Marianne Wine Estate as part of a wine tour in Stellenbosch and Frankshoeck. It was the best winery of the day. Beyond the idyllic landscape and the courteous wine tasting guides, Marianne's wines were really interesting. In particular, they still propose relatively old vintages (we had a 2006), which gives a good opportunity to see how their wines can evolve (complex aromas incl. leather, chocolate, tobacco that are characteristics of old, good quality wines).
