I also really liked the hot springs ♨️. Both the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
Both dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of dishes and were delicious!
On New Year's Day, they even served zenzai and kinako mochi.
After checking out, we got a free ticket to the nearby bathhouse (Agannasse), where we enjoyed the open-air bath and rock sauna until after 3pm. I went with my daughter, and she also said it was a nice change of pace and she really enjoyed it. 😊
Очень приятное и душевное место. Хозяйка замечательная, очень внимательная и хотела помочь. Остались хорошие воспоминания после проживания в этом рекане

It can be said that I am very satisfied! In the small peak season before the Spring Festival, it is really great to be able to book a hot spring hotel with one night and two meals at such a low price!
A group of three friends and I took a bus from Sakuramachi Terminal for about an hour, and walked about 1.5km to the station (in fact, there is a bus that can go directly to the hotel entrance, we missed it, so everyone must check the route conditions of GoogleMap at different times!). But fortunately, the journey is good, and the scenery after the rain is super beautiful! So I pushed the suitcase and took pictures and arrived unknowingly~
1. There is a sister at the front desk who can communicate in English, and basic communication is no problem at all! The accommodation is on the second floor. Although there is no elevator, the clerk helped us to the room very nicely~
2. When checking in, you will be asked to choose the dinner and breakfast time. According to the time selection, you can arrange the hot spring ♨️ time reasonably!
3. Dinner is relatively simple, and you can choose what you like from the set meal provided; breakfast is also quite satisfactory. It is not as good as a hot spring hotel with an average of 2,000 per person per night, but the overall cost performance is full, and there is a super large Family Mart at the door. We also like convenience store food!
4. We chose the hot spring after dinner ♨️ You can take any hot spring key box at the front desk that has not been taken away, and the time limit is one hour (but we can't do it in 20 minutes, hahahahaha). Put on bathrobes and go ♨️. The three of us took a bath in one hot spring, and the space is completely OK. There are even two hot springs, indoor and outdoor~
5. Surprise link, my friend saw the Gundam she liked in the store, and she couldn't move for a long time. After being seen by the kind-hearted store clerk sister, she let her choose the one she liked as a gift 🥹 So touching. (It reminds me of the news that I was looking at bags in the window of a counter in Dubai and was given a bag by a rich man...)
In short, I have taken a few Japanese hot springs, but the previous ones were relatively high-end and expensive. I have no psychological bias for this one, and it is even very heartwarming ☺️ I would like to call it the king of cost-effectiveness~ I am willing to go again! 👍
All staffs are nice and the room is tidy. We stayed with in room onsen was super nice. The check out time showed from trip.com was 12:00 but actually should be 10:00.
The Ryokan Yaya No Yu is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Ryokan Yaya No Yu offers a pleasant stay in Kumamoto for those traveling for business or leisure. With JR Ueki Station just 11km away and Kumamoto Airport only 25km away, transportation is very convenient. This hotel is located near many of Kumamoto's attractions including Akakitanoson Park, Koshigawa Kasen Park and Hotei-ya. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities.
I honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys
