Kumamoto Nishi Ward Hotels

This hotel offers great value for money, and I've stayed at Toyoko Inn locations before. Its prime location, right to the right after exiting Kumamoto Station, makes it incredibly convenient for transportation. The complimentary breakfast offers a wide variety of options and the thoughtful touch of allowing guests to take food back to their rooms is much appreciated.

Right next to Kumamoto Station, which is super convenient for catching JR trains and buses without rushing. Inside Kumamoto Station, there's a tourist information center where you can ask questions, and across from it is the JR ticket office for exchanging tickets. There's also the Higo Market with restaurants, a supermarket, and a convenience store, plus plenty of souvenir options. Below the hotel is a shopping mall with a good selection of dining and retail. I even saw a rainbow 🌈 on the first morning of my stay!

Overall, I am satisfied, but as the review shows, the heating was only on the ２ floor because of the maisonette type, and the １ floor remained very cold. I gave up the air conditioner and used only the small fan heater that I had prepared in the room, but it was warmer than using the air conditioner. (in summer, if the air conditioner is not working, it may be tough without a fan.) The shower head was more troublesome than the air conditioning, and it was not very easy to use in terms of water quantity. I was a little disgusted during my stay, so I went to a hot spring called Yurakusu nearby. It may have been inconvenient because it was a long stay, but tableware (paper plate, etc.) is prepared only one sheet a day, so it may not be enough to eat three meals. Also, since the trash can bag was not prepared to be replaced, I used the same trash bag all the time. If you are interested, you may want to buy it separately because there are 100 averages nearby.

The room was great! The luxury floor offers complimentary instant noodles and drinks, perfect for a late-night snack. It's very close to Kumamoto Station, just a 3-minute walk to the left after exiting. There's a Big C next door, though not very big, and across the street is Amu, which pretty much covers all your shopping and dining needs. There's also a large supermarket on the first floor of the mall, which is a great bonus.

This hotel located near the river, good for a nice morning walk, a gift was provided for the little one, sweet service!

I was a bit worried about the room size, but it turned out fine. The beds were great, one large and one small, probably big enough for a family of three. It was a little inconvenient for the person sleeping on the inner bed to get up in the middle of the night. We could only open one 26-inch suitcase on the floor; the other had to go on the desk. Overall, for Japan, the room wasn't small. The hotel's hot spring on the second floor was quite relaxing. Breakfast was also good, with rice, side dishes, miso soup, bread, coffee, and sausage. The best part was the hotel's fantastic location; it's right across the street from Kumamoto Station, a five-minute walk. The service was excellent; the front desk staff always greeted us when we passed by, and they'd step out to bow whenever we entered the elevator, which almost made me feel a bit self-conscious about going downstairs.
