Ibis Budget Langres

My wife and I were on a pilgrimage across northern France and used many inns, hotels, and bed 'n breakfast facilities - the Ibis chain was always a reliable and pleasant experience. This Ibis was clean, great location and modern facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was good value and a pleasure to be visiting.

The only place in France that allows you to reserve room, drive 4 hours but do not check you in. Arrived to the hotel at 22:30 and nobody at the reception. A kind of automatic machine would be supposed to provide a secret key to have access to the room, but does not work (not connected !). Then, an emergency number that you call, you listen it ringing inside a room, but nobody responds. Literally, a joke. Choose other option.

Although room was adequate for our stay me and the wife encountered 7 youths all hanging around the hotel waiting to rush in once you put a code in. The reception was closed so I walked away rather than give access to these youths. We tried to call the hotel but it just rang out. There was no emergency numbers on the paperwork we had been given on booking in earlier. Fortunately we met they French gentleman who where on there way back and told them what had happened. We got into the hotel and the youths kept their distance. Next morning I reported the incident to the reception desk only to be told that an emergency number is at the front of reception . So perhaps a note of advice to Ibis make your gusts aware of numbers at checking in . Or at least have some security in place once reception closes. Will I use ibis again. ‘Never’

The majority of people staying at this hotel are passing by to or from their holidays - and so where we. We used the automated check in counter as we arrived after 9pm, which worked like a charm. Don’t forget to take a picture of the door code, as the paper might be out. The rooms were spotless clean, the air conditioning in our room didn’t do much though. Breakfast was of course basic, but decent.

Reasonably new Hotel, can also do self check in if reception closed, good location right outside the old city entry, also has parking. Like any Ibis very compact but the room was spotless, good breakfast. No problems recommending this hotel.

Except for the fact that: 1. The hotel didn't provide any assistance about how to get from the train station to the hotel when I asked explicitly; 2. The hot water heater for the entire hotel had been malfunctioning for 3 days and yet the hotel alerted nobody proactively or offered any compensation; It was fine.

I made a booking for 2 rooms in the Accor website. Very uneasy to use in a mobile phone. I made a mistake in the booking period. I called in the minute, answer was: we can't do anything and we keep your money, thank you, and bye bye. This hotel doesn't know what is a client, what hospitality means.

Great location close to numerous restaurants and bars. Very helpful reception. Perfect stopover driving to/from UK Eurotunnel to South of France or Spain. Good rooms with excellent bathroom. Will certainly stay there again.

This hotel is well located, the exception is clean and modern, likewise the rooms. We had a 3 bed room, which was spacious, warm, clean and quiet. The big problem we encountered was with the booking and payment. We booked via the Accord app, the company that runs Ibis, and paid in advance a few days before travelling. When we arrived they had no record of our reservation or payment. We were told this happens often enough. Fortunately, they had a spare room but I imagine there are occasions when they don't. We were asked to pay again for the room and to complete a form asking for a refund, which it seemed would arrive tomorrow. When we asked the next day we were told that the refund would take time, we only got a copy of the form to prove the refund because we demanded it. This is not at all how to treat customers, especially when booking in the dedicate app. I am still awaiting a refund 5 days later and contacting anyone with a complaint is tiresome and obscure, no customer service details anywhere in the website. All in all, good room extremely poor customer service.
