Fort Charlotte Guest House

It was a very pleasant surprise to find accommodation where we felt comfortable, as if we were in our own home. Everything was well designed to make us feel part of Lerwick! The soft beds and well-designed wardrobes provided an excellent environment to recharge your batteries and explore the charms of the Shetland Islands.

Was lucky enough to stay here during a work trip to Shetland. Clean comfortable modern room which is well equipped, excellent breakfast and the most lovely friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Would recommend to anyone visiting Shetland.

Warmest welcome. The king room had everything I needed. Tea/coffee making, mini fridge, comfy bed, usb ports. The breakfast was delicious and you’re able to choose your options the night before. I had smoked salmon one morning and bacon and eggs another. The location is next to the Fort, one block up from harbor and at the end of main shopping lane. Very quiet but literally 1-4 blocks from bank, bus station, restaurants and shops. Ryan, Anita and Kiely are so helpful and accommodating. You can tell they care about the property and the guests. Wonderful!

Likely the best guest house accommodation in Lerwick if not the Shetland Isles. Ryan has done a great job with it and makes every visitor very welcome. I arrived in to Lerwick early morning after a sleepless overnight ferry trip from Aberdeen. I was looking to drop a bag off there before afternoon check-in. My room was however already prepped for me , and Ryan allowed me to access it early - which was very much appreciated. The room was well finished and furnished, to include a very handy fridge. Good en-suite bathroom. Tho I didn’t sample the cooked breakfast options apart from the porridge, the continental breakfast was very good, and the service from Ryan, his mom, and Kelly was also very good. Good standard overall and a great location for Lerwick central. Highly recommended.

Bed was really comfortable, slept very well, Room 2 was a good sized room, with decent storage and a fridge, which was brilliant. TV was massive and excellent. Breakfast was very nice, great ingredients, well cooked. Ryan and Anita were excellent hosts, brilliant at providing information before our stay and accommodating our requests.

Fabulous and a great, well located place to stay. Ryan and Anita and their staff are always helpful and can give advice and guidance on anything Shetland related. A quiet place to stay in the middle of Lerwick with great access to all areas of the island. I will be staying here for all my subsequent trips to Shetland. Superb.
