Large, spacious rooms. The maid was fab and remade the beds everyday, cleaned the floors, emptied the bins etc. Supposed to be self catering but despite the 2 hob burner, we only had one tiny pan designed for one mug of milk, no spatulas, no tin opener, 3 plates between 4 of us etc so no way we could have cooked in there. Bathroom needed some attention. The jacuzzi bath was dirty and the shower curtain desperately needed replacing. This also fell down one day as it was only on a tension rod. Pool was a good size and clean. Could always get sunbeds and was never too busy. We were told it closed at 6.30 pm which is earlier than lots of other places we've stayed at in Greece in the past. As a result, we sometimes felt we were rushing back from a day out to have a bit of time in the pool. Plenty of toys to play with in the pool, left by previous guests. Pool bar serving food during the day (no evening food). Food was of good quality although they ran out of pizzas the second (and last) time we ate there. On this occasion, we chose the table closest to the kids' pool so that we could see them play while we waited for lunch. This was situated on the most slippery marble tiles imaginable. Hadn't realised this though until our little boy came to get a drink and nearly went his length. We told him to be super careful as it was so slippery. At the same time, the owner came out to tell us the same thing. The next time our little boy came for a drink, the owner's Dad (possibly he was the owner himself) came and told him off and said he would be liable for an accident. We literally had no idea what he was supposed to have done wrong (other than walk on the tiles they'd installed). My husband went in to have a chat and the older man apologised and said it was a nervous reaction. The owner then told us we should sit on the tables where the stone slabs were despite nothing to indicate this. Still felt like the blame was being placed on us and this tarnished our opinion of the hotel somewhat unfortunately. The local village was nice with a number of decent tavernas (Dionysus one of our favourites). The first half of the road down to the village had no pavement or streetlights. We walked it with the kids a few times but ended up driving down towards the end of the holiday as it felt safer. Mixture if nationalities staying at the resort. No other English children there for our kids to make friends with. They tried to play with a little German boy but the language barrier made it tricky. This wasn't a problem for our two kids but if you're relying on your kids making friends with other children to keep busy, might be worth bearing in mind. All in all it was a nice holiday but we'll try somewhere different next time on another island.
