The room is very new and the decoration is very artistic.
Dyson hair dryer, Marshall speakers, capsule coffee machine, really very practical.
I didn't see the Jo Malone shower gel that was commented on before.
The room is relatively small. The housekeeper was very considerate to turn on the humidifier. As a result, after eating, the quilt and pillow were all wet. The housekeeper worked hard to change the quilt cover and pillowcase. There was a thunderstorm in the middle of the night, the room was stuffy, and it was very uncomfortable to sleep.
The breakfast was very clean and exquisite, especially the small buns, which were delicious.
You can also park in the alley in front of the homestay. The housekeeper suggested parking in the parking lot across the road, which is a little inconvenient.
You can see the back of the Potala Palace from the roof, and it's okay to take pictures.
The location is a bit far from the Potala Palace and Barkhor Street. It's too much for children to walk from the homestay.
In short, it's not as good as the comments, maybe the expectations are too high.

Perfect
GGuest UserOwner are very friendly & helpful to provide extra service to support my beautiful experience. When the couple is so kind to suggest the best available way to go to airport & make me save money.
At the same time the suggestion me to go one hot spring which to me is an unforgettable memory.
Before I left, they gave me gift (unscented sticks & post card is totally out of my expectation. Helping me to carry my luggage’s are completely 5 stars hotel experience….hehe….🥰
I felt the whole hospitality is so wonderful & unforgettable to be.
So grateful for the owners & met beautiful people there too. 🙏🌹🥰
GGuest UserI saw this place online for a holiday trip and decided to check in. It didn't disappoint me. First of all, I really like the environment here. It's clean and sanitary. It's equipped with disposable towels and bath towels, which is very considerate. Secondly, the service is also very good. Free laundry, oxygen supply and humidification are turned on in advance (the most comfortable hotel I stayed in Tibet, the oxygen diffusion is in place, and the humidification is also in place). In short, I am very satisfied. I like the decoration style of this store very much. If you like Chinese and simple styles, you can go for it. Handmade ******* souvenirs: very heartwarming
GGuest UserThe homestay is a century-old building in Lhasa. The interior decoration is very ******* and the overall facilities are modern. Oxygen machine, humidifier, dry and wet separated toilet... The waiter was very enthusiastic and presented Hada as soon as he entered the door, which was a sense of ceremony. The waiter Ci Ta took the initiative to help with the luggage, which was really helpful for me who lived on the second floor and had altitude sickness. I look forward to staying there next time. After the terrace is repaired, I can drink tea and be in a daze on the terrace. In addition, the breakfast was a bit simple, and it was cold if I went too late.
HhohotimVery satisfied with everything, the best is the customer service, always answer all questions.
Buy an oxygen tube for RMB 10/piece, and you can arrange an oxygen machine at the lobby bar to provide free oxygen.
There were sanitary defects, cigarette butts were found, we don't smoke as a family, but it was acceptable, the sprinkler pipe leaked, and the water pressure increased after cleaning.
Everything was cured by the warm customer service.
GGuest UserI really like this homestay, very clean, convenient transportation, super warm and comfortable environment, there is a small yard, the landlord butler is also good, enthusiastic to answer our various doubts, give me travel advice, avoid stepping on the pit. The room is also intimately prepared with an oxygen generator and a humidifier. Very satisfied, must be five-star praise!
SSubhankar MukherjeeThe service is the worst of all hotels where we have stayed worldwide. It is worse than even any 1-star rated hotel in China. Right from the entry, the check in is chaotic. No one attends to luggage. It takes 2 hours to do formalities and return passports. In Room dining, the order is a huge challenge. They take 2 hours to take order and deliver the food after 1 hour, when they serve only the food in a plate. No seperate dishes or any cutliaries (spoon or fork or chopsticks ... nothing provided). When you point these out, they say sorry and take another 1 hour to bring plates, chop sticks etc. BY now 5 hours passed and food is so cold and not eatable. This is a regular scenario ... repeated 3 times, I.e. everything we placed an order. It's a huge challenge.
On amenities, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If you just take a turn while sleeping, the other person is sure to wake up. They call king size bed .. it's two seperate beds kept side by side with cheap quality spring mattress.
On breakfast, it's very limited and every day same menu. No varieties, the food taste is horrible as well. Extremely bad experience.for the price that is paid. The feeling has been a complete waste of money, sleepless nights, staying hugry and waiting for food post order for 5.hours every time we ordered room dining. The same situation in restaurent as well.
GGuest UserWe stayed at the Shangri-la after a week of being in Tibet. It was a nice change from the more Chinese style hotels we had stayed in and was ideal for the night before our flight out. The rooms are great and we booked one with a bath. The shower was very powerful and hot. The breakfast buffet was, by Chinese standards, decent for western options and the evening buffer was good for approx 200rmb/person if you're in need of more western options.
The big plus for me was the gym. Decent by most hotel standards and had a good mix of resistance machines, cardio and free weights (mainly dumbbells of up to 20kg plus a pair of 27.5kg). The only thing missing from the gym really is a squat rack but otherwise very good. Would stay again.
XXiaoyuebanjianghuI rarely write reviews, but I feel I must write one this time. Gesanghua Hotel has a beautiful and kind proprietress. She is quite young, thoughtful, warm and patient. We just arrived in Lhasa and were not very familiar with the itinerary. Later, we consulted the proprietress to avoid falling into the trap. You can also ask the proprietress to help buy performance tickets and travel packages. There are many discounts after comparison. I am also very satisfied with the arranged room. It is square, clean, with a humidifier, oxygen concentrator, and air conditioner. Every morning, the bright sunshine will shine into the room, making the cool morning warm all of a sudden. Living in a sunny room makes my altitude sickness much better.
The location of the hotel is also very good👍 It is convenient to go out for transportation. It takes a few minutes to walk to Jokhang City, Barkhor Street, and Jokhang Temple. It only takes 10 yuan to take Didi to the Potala Palace.
Warm service, clean room, convenient transportation, we will definitely stay in Gesanghua again next time.
GGuest UserThe hotel isn't to far from the Portola Palace (a short taxi trip). I wouldn't say its a true 4 star hotel.
The room was a good size, quiet and didn't smell of cigarette smoke. The room was a little worn out; I couldn't get the TV to work, the mirror on the wet bar area was cracked, there were marks to the walls where paintings/pictures had once been. Most annoying was the shower cubicle and the shower over the bath had only cold water! On my last morning the power was off in my area of the hotel and the lift was not working due to the power outage.
The hotel staff do not speak English, but one lady working on reception was especially nice and helpful and we were able to communicate by using the translation app.
There are lots of restaurants near by, but next time I think I'd prefer to stay closer to the Portola Palace.
