YHA Snowdon Llanberis

Stopped in one of the two pods which were very clean and cosy. Shower/facilities next to pods were clean and very good hot shower. The member of staff (Juliet) working were very friendly and very helpful. Even went out of her way to put our boots we’d accidentally left by the car to dry in the drying room. We chose to pay for the full breakfast which was cooked and prepared fresh ready for when we came in. Was all very good and glad we chose to have it. Complements to the chefs Neil and Juliet.

The hostel accommodated a group of 22 teenage cyclists over a weekend. Great food, staff and location. We went fully catered and especially enjoyed the big breakkies! It's an easy walk or ride into Llanberis, and well ssituated for pen-y-pass climb and access to many great roads. We gound drivers courteous in this part of the world, and many of the roads were well surfaced, even single track roads over the hills.

Stayed here for one night, before hiking Snowdon the following day. We got the bus from just down the road to Llanberis. Hostel was clean and tidy, and staff were happy to help. The kitchen was on the smaller side compared to some of the other YHA's hostels I've stayed in, but still big enough for multiple people to cook in. There was a large dining area with plenty of seating available. We stayed in a standard room (three of us), and the shower/toilet facilities were clean. Would happily stay here again.

The hosts were amazing & checked us in before check in time as we had arrived a couple of hours earlier than expected. This helped greatly & also helped out when we realised we had forgotten some food items at home! The hospitality was great however the en suite we were given was not the cleanest. Overall the hostel was quite clean and well looked after so I probably would stay again.

The last time I stayed in a Youth Hostel was 35 years ago, the last hotel I stayed in was last month - it was £500 a night. I was booked into Llanberis Youth Hostel by friends from school to go walking in Snowdonia - it would absolutely not be my choice - but …..it was great. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The other guests were lovely, friendly and ….normal unlike some high end hotels. The breakfast was really good quality, the location was perfect and the bed - really comfortable. Incredible value for £30 a night. I may not revisit soon with my wife but I really enjoyed my time here. Thanks so much for restoring my warm view of the world

Helpful folks who let us drop a bag of stuff off in the morning to lighten our backpacks when going up Crib Gogh. Very kind when there was a mix up on said bags and kept the extra until collected the following day. Friendly and welcoming.

My friend and I wanted to recce a route for a race we have coming up in mid-May, so decided to head down 17-20 April, surprisingly there wasn't a lot of accommodation available in the town of Llanberis - everyone must have seen the weather forecast. We wanted to be in the centre as that's where the race starts and can easily get buses towards Pen y Pass and Bangor. I decided to call instead, and lucked out. The hostel kindly accommodated us - 1night in a pod and then 2 nights in private bunkbed room/shared WC. Clean room, toilet/showers were clean and functional. The service at breakfast and at reception was 10/10, thank you for welcoming us and being friendly chatty hosts and allowing us to use the facilities to freshen up after check-out when we did our final run before heading back. I will certainly stay again.

I travelled solo and stayed in a private (non ensuite room). The place is very easy to locate with great signage as you enter Llanberis - it is located up a street with a steep ascent but easy to drive (its an actual road rather than track) but do watch out for any sheep. The car park is small but so long as people park well, usable (I parked and left car there as used public transport and walked during my time). The property is one of the smaller YHAs I've stayed in but doesn't feel cramped with a large social space (large living area and dining hall). The self-catering kitchen is well stocked and although fairly spacious, did get crowded at times (especially when whole families were in there rather than one or two members). There is a very good drying room with lots of space and remains warm throughout the day/night for your belongings. The room was clean and had adequate space, the showers and toilet were near but not so near you were woken by the dryer in the middle of the night. Walls were a little thin but generally didn't hear much. I have to say the view is just incredible from the window (I could see to the side of the hostel overlooking the field and the mountains). The staff were friendly and there is a lock on the door when reception is closed so it does mean you need the door code in the day too (take a photo). In terms of general location, it is very well located for Snowdon - less than a mile from the Llanberis Path and if wanted there is a regular bus service to Pen-y-Pass for the Pyg and Miners Tracks. I am certainly going back as want to do these tracks too (I didn't have the best weather). I would highly recommend staying here for all.

When we spoke about the car parking, during our arrive, they said everything was full, and they could not do anything about it, only alternative to park the car in the village, that's ridiculous...how could be, if they had a free space, next to it, when we saw a tractor carrying big blocks of rocks to blocking the area? ??i dont get it...only 3 or 4 vehicles that i assume from the members of stuff, but still a lot of space available on that yard...
