Small very cosy hotel, serving staff may be young but very friendly and professional. Reception staff very helpful and friendly, nothing to much bother. Room was lovely, very reasonably priced. 5 cource fine dining meal was delicious and Adam our server was chatty with a good sense of humour and yet did his job with such professionalism. Looking forward to staying in the winter when the fires are lighting for the cosy a**osphere.

We arrived quite late & very frazzled due to Google Maps! Be careful routing there. The room was in the owners house & not the nice main building. The AC was non existent & and we only had 2 tiny windows to let in any air. It stayed 23-24C the entire time. The furniture was very dated and chipped, stained. The window seat was beyond awkward trying yo shut the blinds for sleep. Getting them closed was a production, not to mention dangerous if someone falls. Dinner stops around 9;30 pm so I decided I just wanted a cheese sandwich toasted which I did receive. That & my ice cream hit the spot. We slept so poorly due to the room heat & no compensation at all wad offered at check out. Maybe the rooms in the main house were better but this was just a sloppy operation.

I would personally like to leave a 5 star review for service received last night in the bar. A waitress named Kate made our experience excellent. She was excellent in attending to our needs and went above and beyond to make our experience remarkable. It is servers like her that make a hotel deserve their 5 stars!

It was a beautiful location. The grounds and rooms were so gorgeous. The staff was fabulous. They all treated us with such kindness and care. They made us feel like we were family. Andrew, Joe, Kate and Jack(?) were especially great. Andrew made sure every wish we had was taken care of. We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We want to come back.

We stayed at Lough Rynn on our travels through Ireland. Checking in was a great experience. The porter was super sweet and helpful—definitely the best person we interacted with during our stay. We made a reservation for the casual dining room and headed up to unpack. It was very warm in the room so we turned the air on. It put out hot air, but we figured it would cool off eventually. The room was pretty comfy other than the heat and very clean — somewhat spacious, and the bathroom was lovely. The room needs an update. The comforter and lampshade both had rips. There was no luggage rack. We freshened up and went down for high tea—our first experience with one. They sat us at a table with a dirty tablecloth (stains and crumbs and such). They did change it when my aunt requested it. The server was sweet, but she kept disappearing for long stretches of time. The actual food was cute, tasty, and plentiful, and the tea was delicious. We went sightseeing and came back for our 8pm dinner reservation, but they didn’t have us on the list. They were still able to fit us in, thankfully. We sat at the same table for dinner. The food was delicious and the drinks were ok. The server was missing a lot, and we had to track him down to pay before we could leave. I asked a couple of people if the Dungeon Bar would be open that evening but no one had any answers. We walked the grounds as it was getting dark, and they were definitely the jewel of our experience there. The gardens were particularly gorgeous. When we got back to the room, it was hotter than when we left. The air conditioner was still putting out hot air so we turned it off and opened the window. Thankfully, it was gorgeous outside, and it cooled off inside after a bit. The bed wasn’t super plush, and the pillows were very flat. I loved that they had a makeup mirror in the bathroom. The jewelry they offer for sale was pretty. We went down to the Dungeon, and no one was working it so we just sat down there and played cards. Overall, I think this place could be amazing if they did a bit of a facelift with the worn amenities and brought in more servers (it seemed like they were having to do double duty in both of the dining areas which made for poor service).

A beautiful hotel, we dealt with Jodie Sales & Marketing Manager who was so kind and helpful, wonderful room and a great surprise an upgrade, lakeside views and the most spectacular gardens, a real charming castle with helpful staff, special mention to Tracey the Restaurant Manager another staff member who really took care of her guests, delicious food, wonderful scenery and and a historic location, Lough Rynne really is a fairy tale place

We had the most fabulous stay. The staff were so attentive and could not do enough for us. They were extremely friendly, helpful and there were plenty about. It was great to see in the climate where most places we have visited have suffered due to covid. Our room, 203, was huge and very well apportioned. It was delightful being able to sit outside this morning. It was our first time visiting but we will definitely be back.

My Husband and I have always loved Lough Rynn and from a previous review I have posted giving it 5 star rating so it actually took a lot for me to complete this. But I am doing this hoping that they can turn it back around. Although we only live in Longford we have stayed at Lough Rynn about 8-10 occasions and return for food at any opportunity Not everyone has the luxury of being able to plan their life a week in advance so when my self employed Husband surprised me my taking Friday eve off he asked me where would I like to go. My response was of course Lough Rynn. Upon arrival we noticed there was a wedding but not an excessive amount of cars which meant prob most of the guests would be in the ballroom We waited as per the requested sign at the door After a while a waitress asked had we booked which I replied No. I was then asked were we staying with them to which I replied No I was abruptly told well you have to have booked or be a guest Naturally I was confused as pre COVID we never had to book or be a guest. I asked was there not any room for the 2 of us. I was barked at that there was no capacity The waitress retreated and returned with what I can only describe as a female manager as she was by no means a lady I got the same barage of questions-did you book etc we are extremely busy. We have a wedding, it’s a bank holiday… but yet the guests were in the ballroom for the wedding So I informed the manager that we are loyal repeat customers and was there not any room for 2 people. She said she could give us a table for a drink. Confused I asked could we not have some food at the table we could drink at. No we could only drink at the table. When my husband asked when would she need the table back, this ‘manager’ rolled her eyes and scrunched up her face and barked at my husband “WHAT WAS HE SAYING”. I found this behavior upsetting and unwarranted. As the unusual response of being able to drink but not eat at a table my husband had assumed it was to do with the amount of time we could sit at this table. This was most bizarre- we could drink to our hearts content at this table but not eat. She continued with the facial expressions and snarky comments. At this point I wasn’t going to be spoken to or treated like this any further. My husband had to use the facilities and on his return he came back through the John MacGahern library up to the bar where he counted 8 empty tables. I also remarked that there was 2 empty tables in the alcove opposite the entrance. While I didn’t look into the Baronial hall there was not much noise coming from there and only drinks being delivered. So unless 10 tables of people were going to descend on Lough Rynn all at the same time it was very bizarre So if there was a staffing issue or they couldn’t serve food then maybe be honest instead of the way we were treated. I get they have to keep seating for guests but we were never offered the sandstone restaurant or asked if we could wait a certain amount of time
