Hotels in Yongding Earth Building, Longyan

I believe this hotel is the biggest and most beautiful in the area. It is completely in accordance with the Tulou vibe, making it a great place for pictures. The room itself is quite big, with a nice view of the inside of the hotel. The staff was kind enough to confirm all the details one day prior our arrival. Hence, we were able to sort out the missing details and arrive and leave with no delays. I would definitely recommend this place if you are already going to this part of Tulou.

advantage: 1. The location is good. The hotel is in the scenic area and 100 meters away from the core ”Zhencheng Building”. We can directly see the earth building from the 4th floor. 2. Parking is convenient (but the hotel is in a scenic area, which is a double-edged sword. Cars cannot drive to the hotel before 17:30) 3. In terms of surrounding scenic spots, it should be one of the hotels with better environment. 4. Both the name and the overall positioning of the hotel are in line with the theme of ”Reading and Traveling” 5. Hotel staff are attentive 6. The hotel’s breakfast package is simple and exquisite 7. There is KFC downstairs of the hotel, and there are many local restaurants nearby. 8. The room card has the characteristics of Tulou Needs to be improved: The design of the bathroom needs to be improved. Firstly, the storage space around the sink is very small. Secondly, the toilet is in the middle of the entire bathroom, which causes a lot of inconvenience when entering and exiting, washing hands, bathing, and taking care of children. Thirdly, it may be because of the lack of space in the village. The sewer pipes are not perfect and there is no bathroom in the earth building. There is a bit of a peculiar smell in the sewer.

The most expensive hotel I stayed in on this trip. There was nothing special about staying in a Tulou with a history of hundreds of years. The layout of the room was quite standard, not as distinctive as the appearance of the Tulou. The highlight here was the theater performance in the evening, which was remarkable and lively. Most of the performers seemed to be at the level of extras. There was a dance in the middle which looked pleasing to the eye, but the rest of the time it was just for fun. The performance was supposed to showcase Hakka culture, but if you didn't understand the middle part, you wouldn't understand it, and could only look at the pretty girls. I have to complain about the stage setting. If the people in the front row are taller, they block the view of the people in the back row, and children can only see people's heads. The first row is supposed to be the best viewing seat, but there are VIP seats in the front where people can drink tea, so the people in the back rows can't see well. The other services are really good. All questions and requests are answered. It's a good place for rich people to play!

This hotel is really good! The overall environment is clean and tidy, the decoration style is high-end and stylish, the rooms are warm and comfortable, and the details are ingenious. Location: Excellent, right across from the entrance to the Tulou Prince Scenic Area; especially for those arriving by bus from Longyan City, the Tulou Recreation Center stop is right in front of the hotel. Facilities: The hotel has been open for three or four months, and upon arrival, the rooms still had a subtle, modern feel. The gym has treadmills, rowing machines, and bikes, but maintenance has been a bit lacking, with the bike pedals being broken by the staff. The laundry room is located in the gym, making it very convenient for washing and drying clothes. Service: Breakfast is quite good compared to other nearby options, and the hotel's evening delivery of dumplings for a late-night snack is particularly thoughtful (takeout options are quite limited). Other: The hotel manager is very reliable. We were originally staying in a room near the hotel, but at noon, municipal maintenance suddenly broke out outside, creating a loud noise. We reported it to the front desk, who said they couldn't do anything about it. After a few arguments, they asked the hotel manager to come and mediate. The hotel manager then came to the site (which was essentially the construction site) and immediately moved us to a room on the second floor across the hallway, resolving the issue instantly. Kudos to the hotel manager. Others: On the first night, the hotel also provided a performance by the “Guests” from the adjacent Huanxing Building (the last two pictures).

The room was clean and tidy, with an en-suite bathroom, and staying directly in a Tulou (Hakka Earthen Building) made it convenient for watching the light show at night. However, since the air conditioning unit was retrofitted into an old building, the outdoor unit made a loud humming noise all night, to the point where I couldn't even hear my alarm in the morning. But without the AC, it was simply too cold. The bathroom was also quite narrow, making it a bit inconvenient for washing up. Still, for an old house like this, having a private bathroom is a rare find. The owner, a sixth-generation proprietor, enthusiastically shared the Tulou's history and origins with guests. The small courtyard was beautifully decorated, creating a wonderful ambiance, and the owner's mother's cooking was delicious. However, due to the chilly weather, the food got cold very quickly, and unfortunately, it was too cold to sit and enjoy tea in the courtyard. These were minor regrets. I'd recommend staying here when the weather is warmer for a better experience. Those accustomed to conventional hotels might find a Tulou stay less comfortable during colder temperatures.

The environment is very good. In the scenic area, it is not an earth building, but an additional small building built next to the earth building. The owner of the building is the owner of Zhencheng Building. He can take us upstairs at night. Unfortunately, the children are noisy and we can't go. The environment of the B&B is good, but the facilities are a bit rudimentary. It is recommended that the host upgrade the facilities and make the toilet separate from wet and dry.
