Pacific Kalokairi - Adults Only

Pacific Kalokari is a tranquil oasis of beauty. The staff is warmth and friendly, always ready to assist. While slightly secluded from the town center, we found solace in its peaceful ambiance. The staff readily arranges transportation, and taxis arrive promptly upon request. The hotel consists of 8 hut style rooms, with beautiful views. The rooms are cleaned daily and breakfast is included.

The hotel was certainly an eye-opening experience while staying in this beautiful area. This hotel was unique in many levels. Our accommodation was an ocean view room. Sunrises and sunsets were certainly spectacular! Our check-in was easy, and the management greeted us pleasantly. The weather was very hot and humid. Our rooms had air conditioning and a fan. There was a large shower with a rain faucet, and it was delightful. Body soap, hair shampoo and conditioner in bottles were provided. Toilet paper, towels and a towel mat were all in the rooms. Hand soap and moisturizer, too. No tissues or plastic bags for soiled/worn laundry were in sight. We dined that evening at the recommendation of one of the managers- Virginia. She made reservations at the Dragonfly for our holiday dinner. It was pleasant yet overpriced for what we ordered. The next morning, we had a lovely breakfast and were fueled up for our adventure to a beautiful beach. Let me explain that this hotel is attractive in appearance. However, if you are in any way limited to walking, this is NOT the hotel for you. The steps are created from rough stone, they are steep, and it is a workout to go to your room or your car. I felt as if I did 30 minutes of cardio just to get to our SUV! No high heels here!!! The room has cement floors, and it would have been nice to have some type of soft rug beneath my feet or something soft to recline upon as there are only 2 wooden chairs to sit in and a sp**** cushion on a desk chair. Our bed was okay. The second morning, Virginia offered breakfast and was not pleasant to us at all. We asked questions to help us decide where to go and she was not very friendly or helpful for some reason. When we asked for a different beverage or a glass of water, she made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Her attitude continued for the rest of our stay like that. I ignored it and was very disappointed. I asked for an additional slice of toast; we asked for refills of our chosen beverage...not nice. It spiraled to the next day when we asked for additional towels to go to the beach. It was like the world ended. Everything was no, or you already had... I am on vacation, and I did not want to hear NO. This hotel or eco-friendly place is not friendly in any way. I was so disappointed that I am taking the time to write an honest review about my experience. This is a pretty place that lacks amenities. If I wanted bare-bones, I would research for that type of accommodation. I did not like the way I was treated. The cost of our stay was not inexpensive. I will not recommend the hotel for the treatment alone. We all work hard at our professions and wanted to laugh and enjoy ourselves.

Fantastic I would recommend the pictures don’t serve any justice phenomenal in person……excellent staff very attentive and accommodate at ease………………………………………..Would recommend and plan on returning in the future thank you……………………….

The photos don't do this place justice. The photos made us book but in person its even better! my boyfriend and I stayed two nights at Pacific Kalokairi for a birthday trip. We loved the really kind staff, Virginia, Maria, Silvia and of course Charlie! but the views is what makes this place special. it's tucked away in the mountains a short drive away from the downtown Tamarindo. We did experience some difficulties with getting up the hill but all in all it can happen (good driver and preferably 4X4). I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a calm relaxing place away from the crowds. It really is so peaceful and aesthetically beautiful. (also very romantic) ahaha. I'd stay here again if I am ever back in Costa Rica.

Such a beautiful place! This was the 2nd stop of our trip and it was great! The resort was sitting atop the hill overlooking the ocean and trees. The villas are beautiful!! The service was great, we ordered lunch both days and complimentary breakfast by the pool was an awesome start to the day! We really appreciated the twice a day shuttle to town. Also, Charly made the stay that much better!

We loved the boutique feel of this hotel. If you are looking for something that feels private, adults only, incredible food with daily fresh ingredients, super attentive staff and an overall relaxing vibe, look no further. We will most certainly return. Thank you Virginia, the family and rest of team!

Had a wonderful 4 night stay. We were very happy with our experience. Virginia and her family are amazing! They make you feel welcomed, cook you customized breakfasts, make special drinks & help book tours (if you need help with that). If we go back to visit the beaches out in Guanacaste, we know where we'll be staying next time!

The architecture is phenomenal. Modern and breathtaking. The owners, Virginia and her Mom & Dad always greeeted us with smiles and treated us so well. We became family. The meals were delicious and we rarely ate anywhere else. If we wanted something slightly different from the menu, they were accomodating. The infinity pool was gorgeous and my massage was the best. I miss the place already and we just got home!! Karen & Jack

My husband found this place at my request to stay in Tamarindo. We wanted to check out the town and stay somewhere a little different. This place didn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for relaxing and some peace this is your destination. I believe one day at the pool we were the only ones there for hours. Most people head to town during the day as Virginia and her team offer a drive down everyday at 10am/3/6/9pm. They can only take 4 people at a time but we had no issues getting a ride when we wanted one. Dining: Breakfast was good. They have a small variety of offerings for everyone’s liking. They serve a bowl of fresh fruit and jam with bread at each sitting and it was the best jam I’ve ever had. Virginia’s mom makes it fresh. Lunch and dinner are also offered. We didn’t eat dinner here just because we wanted to explore the town options. Pool: Beautiful view. Hotel provides pool towels. Only 4 sets of chairs but never had a problem with getting a set. When it got too hot there is a shaded area with hanging chairs that is perfect with the right book. Room: Perfect for our needs. These rooms were well designed. Air and fan worked great as it was very hot during our stay. Shower was gorgeous and shampoo/conditioner and soap were provided. Beach: A beach club was recommended to us. I’m glad it was because it was nice and quiet. The only thing is that it’s $50pp/day. For one day we didn’t mind paying that. You have access to a pool, bar, bathrooms, lounge chairs etc. Virginia has beach towels available. But the club had them too. There wasn’t a gym but I walked down the road in the am to explore and get some exercise in. They did have a punching bag and some other things. We loved the town of Tamarindo and this accommodation completed our experience. Virginia and her family/team did a great job of making our stay nice.
