AI Summary

The property features comfortable, spacious rooms with lake views, excellent breakfast, and modern amenities like a pool, spa, and free e-bikes. Staff are attentive and provide exceptional service. However, some guests find the pricing, especially at the restaurant and for panoramic views, to be high.

Excellent overall! Absolutely wonderful location (accessible only by taxi) whether day or night! A wonderful DeLuxe room overlooking the lake! The size, the materials of the highest quality and the finest design. Excellent food in the bistro, since the restaurant was fully booked! Unfortunately only one night a.Gr. from a lot of work in Lugano (visiting a great performance in the Arte and Kultur Center). Unfortunately, the fitness/sauna were still closed, but the private spa could be booked before departure on Sunday morning... good alternative. The gardens all around heavenly! The team was super professional, extremely friendly and helpful. I'm looking forward and already dreaming of my next visit to the Villa Leopolde... heartily recommended for connoisseurs of fine and good things... Denise Welten in Zurich

Sensationelle Lage, aufmerksame empfangspersonal….

"During our brief stay at this hotel with my mom, we were treated to exceptional service that truly stood out. The restaurant surpassed our expectations, and Daniel's warm hospitality made our dining experience memorable. The reception staff, including Ariana, Elisa, and Jacomo, were also outstanding, ensuring we felt welcomed and valued throughout our stay. Without a doubt, we look forward to returning to this hotel in the future."

The hotel offers an amazing view on Lake Lugano, especially in the morning, during the delicious breakfast, on the terrace. However, we were very disappointed in the room quality. Even though it was clean, there were a lot of stains (on the walls, on the lamps...). The bathroom was clean, but in such a hotel, I expect the shower to be properly fixed and not to stay in my hand when I switch it on. The service at the restaurant was decent, but the person in charge made us feel not welcome. Prices in the restaurant, not even the gastronomic one, are very high... All in all, it's not a place I would recommend for something else then a drink to enjoy the breathtaking view.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. I am a self-admitted hotel snob, and I try to find the finest and most upscale properties. This could have been it. It is arguably the best looking property in all of Lugano. The building and grounds are gorgeous. Even the hallways were gorgeous. The property looked like a 5-star hotel. The staff had 5-star hotel hospitality. And the room was well appointed and nicely decorated (teal/gray). The furniture looked pleasing to sit on (when I typically avoid sitting on hotel furniture). The views from the room and balcony were spectacular. So why did I only give it 3 stars? My first issue with the hotel was that the room had a make-shift king-sized bed that was not a king-size mattress, but instead, two twin mattresses pushed together. This was horrible!! When hotels do this, you should have a converter *****, which is simple enough to order and softly seals the crack between the two beds, so that you are not falling deep into a hole! I was there on a romantic getaway, which was very much needed, and we could not even sleep closely together. It was horrible! The pillows were also very uncomfortable. My second issue was that the room was cold, and there was no way to adjust the heat from the room. This was obviously being controlled by the hotel/staff (and, usually, only hotels that are penny pinching tend to do this!). When I questioned this, they brought a space/electric heater to our room (as if they were prepared for these types of complaints). This is a problem, and winter is coming!! Not only did the space heater NOT help, but space heaters are dangerous and can cause fires. I was very uncomfortable with the thought of guests having these heaters in their rooms and leaving out for the day with the thing still plugged in and turned on! A very close friend of mine lost his father in a hotel fire, which made the news, and this is probably how that fire started! Lastly, the rooms are on the lower level, and our room was by the dining area where breakfast was held. We were awakened at 6AM every morning (weekend) where staff starting setting up and clinging and clanging dishes, and then guests gathered and ate very loudly seemingly right outside of our room (Room A). This is a BEAUTIFUL room w/ a stunning view, but a HORRIBLE room location! [*The breakfast buffet, where you can also order a hot omelette, is very nice by the way.] In short, I would recommend this hotel and certainly revisit the hotel because of its 5-star beauty and 5-star staff, BUT I would only recommend visiting in spring and summer where the cold is less of an issue. I would also recommend a different room location away from the dining area now that I know the set up.

We stayed here for our honeymoon - it was glorious! The only "issue" was with Mother Nature - the wintry cold set in the day before we arrived, so we didn't get to take advantage of our gorgeous private balcony to take in views of the lake. It was quite cloudy and cold. That being said, the staff was incredible, the rooms were AMAZING, the beds were comfortable, and the spa was relaxing. The private shuttle took us to town as well as the train station. We were also able to order coffee service to our room the day we left because we had to depart early, before breakfast. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for relaxing and staying put, and for an elegant, elevated experience. It is a bit far from the downtown Lugano area, so if you plan to go out and explore, be sure to arrange transportation with the front desk (unless you have a car). All in all, a great experience!!

Great views to the lake, super friendly staff, walking distance from city. The food was absolutely delicious, it was a lovely experience with top level staff! They are dog friendly, made a little card with my dog’s picture and name, along with some healthy treetoes - she loooved them.
