If I only had three words to describe my stay at Mulberry Lavender Farm, I would say, “What matters most.” In less than twenty-four hours, I was given the gift of a beautiful reset. From the moment I stepped out of the car, it seemed as if time collapsed. The first one to greet me was a beautiful turkey with his feathers fanned out in all his grandeur. He slowly approached and then stopped a short distance away as if to say, “Welcome.” The next thing I noticed was that no one was in a hurry. The owners tended to chores with a rhythm and routine that can only come from years of knowing and caring for each animal--and yes, they all have names. As darkness approached, the peacocks flew up to the highest branches of a large tree to roost for the night. The century-old house has welcomed many visitors through the years and I immediately felt at home. Beautiful linens, lace curtains, antique furnishings, and books offered comfort and charm from a simpler time. I guess I had forgotten a few things about what makes my life meaningful amidst my busy calendar of to-dos. The atmosphere at Mulberry Lavender Farm invited me to relax and enjoy the experience. A few of my favorite things— - A breakfast frittata made with fresh eggs and hot biscuits served with homemade butter and honey harvested from the bee hives just a few steps out the door. - An early morning walk hearing the roosters announce the beginning of a new day. - A cozy bed with colorful and soft linens. - Large windows with beautiful views and lace curtains. - Watching the owners tend to the animals with love and attention while whistling a song. Do yourself a favor and take a few days off from your daily grind to enjoy a peaceful reset--a gift to yourself.

Staying in Nashville, and searching for a B&B nearby, this farm popped up and I booked two nights - before realizing is was 80 miles south. It was non-refundable and had good reviews, so we left. We arrived to find (with some difficulty) an old farm house masquerading as a Lavendar Farm. They had removed all of the lavendar and the "store" was the lobby of the house, but it was packed for a morning trip to the farmer's market in Franklin. To say this place is rustic would be an understatement. The room was an antique in itself and the person who said there is nothing to do was right, so bring a book...or two. The folks are nice enough, but we werent looking to make friends but find a charming, quaint getaway. This was not it. We left after one night, forfeiting our second, and made up some excuse about an early flight from Nashville. I'm not bougee and dont need five star, but this is very rustic. Very! Imaging how the place was in 1923 -- that;s still how it is. If thats your taste you will love it.

Peaceful, comfortable and interesting stay. The cottage with a mid 18th century decor combined with a mix of local history and curious farm animals (two Tom turkeys and Peacocks being the most curious about our presence). We’ll return for a longer stay in the future.

We didn’t stay. The B&B was nothing like it was presented on ********** The rating was 9.2 as exceptional and it was so bad that it was not worth a rating! It was very disappointing, but even though we had already paid we left and found a very nice hotel about 20 minutes away. I will never use Hotel.com again!
