Our room was not ready at the promised 3 pm. The elevator was broken. 4 flights of dirty stairs to a bed with springs popping up. Hot and cold water intermittent throughout a shower. Charged $25 for a one hour late checkout. I would never recommend this hotel.

Quite a tired hotel. The single room had a slightly challenging layout to dry wet clothes on a rainy day, and the bathroom, while large, was cold and damp. I just missed the main dinner sitting (at 7.30), so was grateful for the pizza options available until 9, which was large and well loaded. Breakfast started quite late, but the team was kind enough to open up continental options a few minutes early.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was large and comfortable with great views of Lynton town. We were on the 3rd floor of the hotel and the lift was out of order for the entire stay. If you have mobility problems this would be a problem. The hotel is a grand old building and was inexpensive so perfect for our needs.

Perfect location right in the middle of Lynton, no on-site parking but not a problem as carpark very close and as I was on my motorbike it was free. Staff very helpful and friendly, would recommend to anyone thing of a cheap break away.

Before attending we read the reviews and thought we’d take a chance.
A lot of the reviews are unfair. This building is quite clearly old and is not a modern
Travel lodge. A lot of the criticisms show a misunderstanding of the challenges of turning a building like this into a hotel.
To me it was a privilege to be able to stay in an impressive building such as this.

It's charming old hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately our room was incredibly hot as it we had warm weather, there was no A/C, and only one window could be opened about 6 inches. My advice is to ask about A/C before you book.

I booked a Surprise Birthday getaway for my husband and my booking was for a Sea View room.
Wow. What a an incredible room overlooking Lynmouth bay.We were watching tide come and go and the Sun set and rise.
Amazing place.
