Hotel Castello Lake Front

Home after a lovely week at Castello. This is our second time after staying in a hot tub living suite last year. This time we opted for a more budget friendly Smart room. Although not on the same scale (but about 200e cheaper a night) we loved the terrace with direct access to the lovely garden with sun loungers, big comfy bed, double shower, great air con and housekeeping. These rooms are a great option if you do not want to splash out. We loved the sun bathing garden which has direct access to the lake and plenty of loungers. There is also an indoor hot tub that all guests can use. We thought this was a lovely touch, although it is rather heavily chlorinated which hopefully the hotel can rectify (eyes and throat stinging). Breakfast is amazing with so much choice and available until 10:30 if you want a lie in. Location of hotel is perfect - away from the crowds, right on the lake for swimming with paddle boards etc for guests which we enjoyed taking out.

This was our third holiday at Hotel Castello Lakefront and I have to say, each one surpasses the last. The Treccani family are not ones to rest on their laurels. It’s apparent that they are constantly striving to uphold their reputation as premier hoteliers whilst introducing fresh and innovative ideas to enhance the guest experience to another level. One couldn’t hope for better hospitality, from Marisa on check-in, to the exceptional service from Paul and team in the Al Bacio terrace restaurant and the ladies in the breakfast room, not forgetting the lovely chambermaids who looked after our rooms, everyone is extremely professional, friendly and helpful, led by Marco and Matteo Treccani. It was good to see Signor Treccani Snr. again too. I have never come across a hotel with such exceptional standards of cleanliness as Hotel Castello. Everything is just perfect. We chose to stay in a Junior Living Suite this time which is in a block opposite the main building, and Wow! The design of the rooms has been so well thought out and the views across Lake Garda from our balcony were just amazing. I absolutely loved the fact that there was ample hanging space for our clothes (I have yet to master the art of travelling light!), with good quality wooden hangers. The room has plenty of surfaces for personal and toiletry items with a dedicated worktop and sink to prepare your own morning tea or coffee and a microwave at your disposal. Being typically English we brought a travel kettle with us, however, on the lower floor is a drinks machine for making tea and coffee, and here also is a filtered water dispenser and glass bottles to take to your suite. The bathroom is spacious and light with a walk-in waterfall shower (with the addition of an hand-held “wand”) and plenty of room on the sink surround for your toiletries. Fluffy bathrobes and flip-flops are supplied as well as complementary toiletry items. Towels were changed every couple of days as was our bedding. The large, comfortable bed is made up of two smaller ones put together and topped by two single duvets, which means less chance of waking your partner if you need to move around at night. The light from the panoramic window can be completely blocked out for sleep by closing the heavy curtains. Food served in the Al Bacio restaurant at lunchtime and evening is of a very high standard and we were recommended some beautiful wines from the region to pair with the dishes we chose. As for breakfast, I cannot think of a more comprehensive offering anywhere, all delightfully set out for self service. A “full English” hot selection, cheeses, charcuterie, eggs, fruit, yogurt, cakes, and wonderful breads. Should you wish to order cooked eggs or an omelette, a delightful lady will make them to order and bring to your table. There is even a juicer for making fruit or vegetable smoothies and on the cereal counter there is every kind of nut, seed, and dried fruit as well as a real honeycomb, so no excuse for not e

My seventh visit to Malcesine and stay at Hotel Castello Lake Front, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else, this hotel, owners and staff are part of the holiday, I think it is the best hotel in Malcesine and will definitely return. A family run hotel, where the owners and staff are extremely polite and helpful, the owners are always around and at hand to manage. The hotel is extremely well kept/spotlessly clean; a high standard. The restaurant is also an extremely high standard. Beautifully appointed with a fabulous menu choice and amazing very tasty food, nothing is too much trouble, the staff are just lovely and attend to your every need. The restaurant has beautiful views over the lake, people that are not staying at the hotel book to eat there. A wonderful and very relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast is equally amazing, carefully thought out and again very tasty with so much wonderful choice; I can’t think of anywhere I have stayed that has such a lovely breakfast. The breakfast room also has beautiful views of the lake and again well-appointed and comfortable with very attentive staff. Just amazing, thank you so much Marco, Matteo and staff. Mandy Sangan

We didn't want to leave this hotel it has got to be one of the best we have stayed in. The rooms were beautiful and so clean the staff were amazing and the attention to detail they couldn't do enough for us. Our breakfasts were outstanding. We will be booking again next year. The pilows are fluffiest i have ever felt… absolutly awesome. Hotel was clean like Mr Proper and hotel servis incredible, we were extremely satisfied. Reception desk was always ready to provide its service with a smile. The parking was include in price..

We came to stay with our friends and celebrated our collective 25th wedding anniversaries. The hotel is in a perfect location with views of the lake and mountains which are quite stunning. Stayed in the junior suite-clean and modern with plenty of space. Comfy beds and a large balcony. Breakfast was a highlight and the staff are super helpful. Walkable to many beautiful restaurants and I just wish we could have stayed longer! I hope to return and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Lake Garda.

My wife and I visited Hotel Castello for our 10 year wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful time here. Really enjoyed our stay, the hotel was amazing as was our room and the view of the lake and castle is incredible. The location is fantastic. The breakfast offering was incredible and the perfect way to start the day and after a little swin in the lake the whirlpool was a much needed luxury. Marco and Besmir were really superb, great customer service, friendly with a smile and very helpful, the perfect hosts. We would certainly love to return again one day. Hotel Castello is faultless, highly recommended.

The hotel was very nice and clean. excellent location, close to the center. The staff was very nice. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The room was beautifully furnished.Beautiful view from the room. We will definitely come back here.

This is our 7th stay at Hotel Castello lake front which speaks for itself really. There's something special and magical about this hotel from the moment you arrive to thr moment you leave. The staff are amazing and a big shout out for Paul in the restaurant who is very professional but has time to speak to all guests. Look forward to visit No 8
