This review is for the motel units across the street from the Resort. The people that run the snazzy place also operate the RV park & motel across the street. This was a bit confusing for us at first for the checkin. Motel was fine. It was a motel. We actually stayed in the handicap suite because it was the last King bed room. It was rather sparsely furnished but maybe to make it easy for a wheelchair. It was very clean & the bed & linens were very comfortable. Room had a coffeemaker, fridge & microwave. The staff were great & came across the road to open the store just so we could buy some beer, which we enjoyed on the adirondack chairs outside our room! As in most other hotels, only one luggage rack. Please add another for my suitcase too! Very convenient to Lassen National Park, But not cheap at $188.

This fantastic lodge right outside of Lassen National Volcanic Park was the surprise best of our trip. We stayed in the Serenity cottage, which was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, and had a fireplace and two-person hot tub, both of which we were happy to use after a day of hiking in the park. The food and service at the restaurant were both among the best we’ve had, and an excellent breakfast was included with our stay. Beautiful setting - we wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful setting immediately adjacent to a broad meadow with forested mountains all around. Cottages are nice. Great bedding. Small gas fireplaces for another time of year. A hot tub you pay extra for where anyone walking by can see you? No A/C.? Food decent in nice big restaurant/bar with outdoor seating. Breakfast especially good. Outdoor fire pit at night under stars. Would only stay there again if less than 75 degrees.

Very nice place to stay close to Lassen. We were in Cottage 1, which was closest to the meadow/pasture. We enjoyed listening to the cows, but that may not be for everyone. Restaurant was very good and the only place to get Wi-Fi on the property (basically no cell coverage with AT&T near the resort).

Just stayed at Highlands Ranch Resort and must comment on how wonderfully upscale and welcoming this property is. Also there was confusion regarding the reservation that was handled most efficiently and satisfactorily by the manager Carrie. She is quite an asset for this resort.

What a gem of a find! Rooms and accommodations were comfy just the way you want it in the cool mountains. The best part is having a great bar and restaurant with amazing food. Everyone that worked here was pleasant and accommodating. The best thing is to get the fried chicken for a lunch to go! We did it twice and both times great! Would definitely stay again!

Always a good meal. Great service and the atmosphere is wonderful. The western decor is authentic. Red Bluff artist, Jamie Means, pieces are great! I'm not sure what is up with the new photos on some kind of shiny metal is all about. But the original art and Navajo rugs are fabulous.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Highlands Ranch. We stayed in Timber ridge, a lovely 2-bedroom stand alone cabin with a double bed downstairs and a single bed up a ladder in the loft, which my son loved. The room is nicely appointed with a fabulous bathroom with heated floor (even though it was baking outside somehow this felt really nice). We did have a couple of guests in the bathroom, tiny frogs which seemed to be everywhere outside, but we didn’t mind that. We ate bath nights at the restaurant, which was very good. It must cater to locals as well as it was very busy, with a live singer and a few birthday parties. Both meals were excellent. Breakfast wasn’t quite as good, but that may be down to personal taste. The main lodge was the only place you could get Wi-Fi so we did linger a bit longer there. There were hummingbirds on the terrace and the views were sublime. One of the stand out experiences for me was the night sky. I don’t think I’ve ever had such an amazing view. We main reason for our stay was a visit to nearby Lassen, which was beautiful. The lodge is very convenient for a visit. The only thing that would be nice to add is a small pool or hot tub. When we got back from the park we were dying for a cool down and it would have been nice to plunge into a cold pool. Similarly a. Hot tub may be a way to appreciate the night skies better. The ranch bills itself as a resort so I’d expect something like that.

What a waste. We’ve been at breakfast for an hour now and are still waiting for breakfast. We were told they have no eggs and later that they we’re getting some. No manager around. Absentee ownership will doom any property no matter how pretty.

A true treasure out in the forest! It’s situated close to the entrance of Mt. Lassen national park We celebrated my husband’s birthday and had a nice afternoon lunch with a yummy cauliflower bbq appetizer. My wine choice was a “flowers” Chardonnay The service is great! Friendly atmosphere I want to come back and maybe stay a nite or two? It looks so cozy I look forward to more visits!

The location is unbeatable if you are traveling to Lassen Volcanic National Park. The entrance is just a few miles away. Our cabin was modern and comfortable. Our rooms did not have WiFi, but we were able to connect in the main lodge. We spent time in the morning at the breakfast for guests (which was good) and later in the day catching up on email and checking on things. Beyond that, it was nice to be away from it, and to enjoy what we came there for, which was to hike and enjoy the beauty of Lassen.

Excellent time to visit with great weather and amenities, except Lassen NP was not fully open. Cabins arranged with lots of space, privacy and well appointed. Look at their photos before making your reservation. Ours had great meadow and tree views. We can’t think of anything to improve. Breakfast is included by ordering off their restaurant menu. We ate dinner too. For EV travelers, you can receive a Level 2 charge across the road in their RV park for $25.
