Unforgettable Experience We chose to visit because my partner has a strong preference for nature and wildlife, and it was her first time in Sri Lanka. We stayed for three nights, and I must say, the eco-friendly atmosphere was remarkable! The rooms were spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room for relaxation. The staff's service was exceptional, and they were always willing to assist us. A special shoutout to the chef, who was incredibly helpful in catering to our preferences. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Eranga, the hotel manager, who, along with his team, made our stay truly unforgettable. During our visit, I arranged a Yala safari. We opted for the full-day trip, which was indeed a great experience and worth every penny. However, I found that the half-day safari might be a more enjoyable option, as the full day can be quite exhausting due to all the movement around the park. We were fortunate to see a variety of animals, especially the leopard and the bear. The safari guide was fantastic, although I regret that we couldn't recall his name. Looking forward to returning! ❤️

The hotel is wonderful, in the middle of Yala Park, a swimming pool for more comfort and very kind staff. They organized the safari where we saw leopards, elephants and everything else. an unforgettable experience! I would stay here agaim for sure!

Right at the door of Yala National Park, this place is clean and tidy. The rooms exactly as per the photo's on the booking platforms. Breakfast was delicious, generous and filling. Dinner taken both nights at the hotel, with limited options as we were the only guests at the time. Arranged the day safari through the hotel. Good driver but limited sightings on the day. The road in is a bit rough heading into the hotel (just a heads up - not an issue). The pool area was nice to enjoy after a hot safari day. Super quiet location. Very nice staff. A little weird being the only guests, but it was sort of cool too.

The room and the bathroom is spacious. The shower imitates a waterfall, but with too little water...We stayed two nights, but got the impression that most of the guests stay just for one night to visit the national park. There's no where to go for another restaurant, so you have to eat on the compound: basic Sri Lankan tasty food...and just water or tea to drink. The staff is really helpful and friendly and made our stay as comfortable as possible.

This is a very basic property that has had no investment for about 20 years. They do not provide housekeeping during your stay so how it rates very high on cleanliness is beyond me. The WiFi is intermittent when turned on. The pool area is unkept. On the plus side the staff are lovely and very helpful. The food is very good apart from the safari breakfast. This property is also listed as superb on another website which is very far from the truth. I hope this review stays for a few days as I only found good reviews before booking. You need to warn your driver of the unkept road to the property which is about a 20 minutes drive. No alcohol served. Great safari driver booked through the resort.

Kele Yala is a hidden gem nestled in the dry zone of Sri Lanka, just a short drive from Yala National Park's Katagamuwa entrance. This boutique hotel offers a tranquil and comfortable base for exploring the surrounding wilderness. The friendly and welcoming staff, absolutely delicious food (how can a humble vegetable soup and simple egghoppers taste so amazing?), and peaceful surroundings made our stay memorable. While the resort doesn't offer a TV or stable internet, we didn't miss it as we spent our time on safari and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. We didn't use the swimming pool either. We also had THE best nap after the morning safari, and the team was kind enough to give us a late checkout.

We spent two nights at the wonderful Kele Yala in 3 adjoining chalets, and I really didn't want to leave. If you want to really get away from it all, this is the perfect place. It's right off the beaten track in the middle of the countryside next to the Yala national park. The staff were incredibly helpful and the rooms were beautiful. There's no restaurant as such but if you tell them what you'd like they prepare your meals for you - we had delicious home cooked Sri Lankan food for breakfast and dinner. They arranged a private jeep safari (lasting about 4 hours) for us in the national park which was the highlight of our trip - we saw a lot of birds and animals including an elephant and a leopard, and the joy of being in this part of the park was that we were away from the crowds of jeeps in the main part. For the rest of the time we hung out on our patio watching the animals and birds, stopping only to swim in the beautiful flower-surrounded pool. Two things to note - there's no WiFi which was a positive as it meant we really focussed on our beautiful surroundings, and this is an alcohol free area, so if you'd like a drink on your patio, you need to bring your own.

When you drive towards the place it’s a mud road and you arrive to a concrete structure which is the reception area and dining area and was worried. The staff were absolutely amazing and looked after us well. The room was lovely as was the bathroom however, the sink didn’t drain properly and shower was a drizzle that you could barely use which was disappointing. The bed only had a thin sheet on it so felt cold with the air conditioning on even though we adjusted the temp and hit without it on. The fan was a little noisy. The food was not great, we ordered at lunchtime from a menu for what we wanted for dinner and when we arrived back from safari at 6.30pm was told dinner won’t be ready til 7.30pm. The fries are cooked in coconut oil so didn’t taste great. My creamy pasta was dry. The pool water was cloudy with what looked like a film of dust on top so didn’t want to risk getting in. I wouldn’t recommend staying here as it is but if they fixed the bathroom issues and improved the food and had a blanket it can be so much better as the rooms are lovely and the serenity of the place is really nice.
