Thanks but no thanks. Mrs ********, your hotel is unworthy of the hotel industry. We were 5 friends looking for a hotel for the night in Montañita on 12 February. We arrived at around 8-9pm at the Selina. Not a single smile at reception. We said we wanted 3 rooms, for 2 couples and a single person. We were offered 3 double rooms at 55$ per room with air conditioning and parking included. The receptionist said that the rooms were in a secondary building 50m from the main hotel. (There's no private passage between the two, so you have to walk with all your stuff through the crowded street to get to the other building, and leave your car at the main hotel...). By the time my friends arrived with the car, I asked a woman at reception (who turned out to be the hotel manager) how they could access the car park. She barely gave me a glance, not a single smile. And she says to me (in Espanol) "Which is your room? Because not all rooms have access to the car park". I pointed to the keys on her desk 1m away with the room numbers clearly visible. She didn't even turn her head and replied disdainfully, "I don't know which room you're in, and you'd better wait for my colleague (who came back 20 minutes later while in the car my friends despaired wanted to rest as soon as possible after a long journey). Then the colleague came back, opened the car park, and we paid for the "Suite Deluxe" rooms - note the Deluxe - ($165). We walked (alone, no assistance from them...) the 50m with our things to the building. We settled into our rooms. Surprise: no running water for the toilets, taps or showers. The door of the bathroom window is broken and impossible to close and the balcony and the secondary window of the room look out onto a neighbouring hotel with the noise and music loud. Suite DELUXE" room. We went back to the reception to complain. The manager was still on duty. We told her we had no water. She instantly replies "ah but you were warned by the hotel's Whatsapp group", we sent a message at 5pm". We just stared at her, speechless, and told her we'd arrived around 8-9pm. We didn't even know that there was a WhatsApp group or that anyone had told us about it. She then joined us in a long speech of "sorry indeed we've had a water problem in this building since today which will be sorted out tomorrow morning. -Word for word - this is NOT OUR FAULT OR RESPONSIBILITY (???? SORRY ? So you own a hotel and you deny the responsibility you owe to your customers???). After 15min of "speech battle" she finally agreed with us, then told us that we could cancel the rooms and get a refund before leaving the hotel. So at 10pm on the evening of a Carnival bank holiday, we had to go back and find 3 rooms miraculously available? A completely unacceptable proposal! They didn't even think of the possibility of reducing the room price for the inconvenience caused. So you pay the full rate (supposedly for their best rooms) for a bed and air-conditioning without the possibility of sh

The single worst hostel OR any place I have ever stayed. So loud my partner and I were shouting to each other (I’m not joking) in the same bed. We were given ear plugs on check in but they were not even close to good enough. We were here for one night of 4 before we left, they refused to refund us. And it was a private room at $100/night There is no Wi-Fi any where near the bedrooms only the lobby and it’s intermittent. The free water station has been empty every time I’ve seen it. The bar is dead all evenings (we keep walking past to see if it’s better) so it’s not like there is even a good atmosphere there. I’ve worked in hostels and clubs whilst travelling and this one is like no other. The other salina hostels are much better. The kitchen has one knife, a broken fridge and broken microwave. The bedrooms are in between 3 clubs. I have attached a picture of where I would rather stay and spend my money. The manager is also unapologetic and rude.

I cannot believe this hostel is allowed to charge money for people to stay in their rooms. It is so loud - my partner and I had to shout over each other to be heard in our own bedroom. The music at all the surrounding bars and clubs doesn't stop until 5am and all the music is clashing. There is no sound proofing and our bathroom window didnt close so it generally felt like we were trying to sleep in the middle of a nightclub. We had maybe 4 or 5 different sounds coming into our room from the street. It's expensive. The rooms are basic. The kitchen is filthy and smells of mould. There are no forks. It claims to be a "party hostel" but there is no atmosphere. It's a really big soulless hostel which occasionally puts out loud and bad dj music. We left after 1 night and they wouldn't give us a refund. The manager was not apologetic and said it was our fault for booking with them. Honestly, the place is a disgrace and I can't see how people can sleep there at all, and how they can continue to operate as an accommodation. If you are in Montanita, stay 5 mins or so out of town in a nice hostel with atmosphere and come into town to party. Do not stay here.

Not as advertised. I called you all 2 times for a partial refund, but you keep giving me the runaround I did get the insurance. This property was not as advertised. This property was not as advertised to me. I had to move. They took my keys and said only you can give refund. Back and forth with just giving me a refund.

The food is great, and the rooms are good too! During the stay, I used the shared spaces, and it worked out perfectly. You can enjoy some surfing or yoga lessons if you wish and if you are a party lover, you are one street from the bars and clubs.

I had the privilege to visit this place in the company of friends and it was a very incredible experience because it is a very cozy place, with excellent and very comfortable rooms, it has a pool and is close to the sea, the food is delicious and their cocktails are the best, the staff is very friendly and attentive, in my opinion it is a place I would visit again for its comfort and good atmosphere to enjoy in the company of family, friends or couples. The best experience in this place that offers an incredible view.

Tiny rooms with literally a bed in them, no room for any of your stuff, bag etc. Dirty towels with stains. We were told there’s a “towel shortage” when we asked for fresh towels We had to request for our room to be cleaned and they put bedsheets with black mould on them The toilets are extremely dirty and never cleaned throughout the day The showers didn’t have locks on them (?!) had to ask for locks to be put on them The staff are half asleep and haven’t a clue how to run the place. They seem so lost when you ask for anything The pool is nice but again, the chairs are full of bird poo and never cleaned The location is great as it’s right on the beach and within all the restaurants and bars. However, if you’re looking to get any sort of sleep, don’t stay here. The hostel is in between two of the biggest nightclubs and the music is on until 5am every night of the week. The hostel itself starts playing music before 9am every morning even though there’s literally no one to play for?! They had some singer with the screechiest voice waking people up.
