One&Only Gorilla's Nest

This hotel embodies what it is to be a One&Only resort. Its location exudes privacy, sanctuary, yet proximity to the Volcanos National park. It has every single comfort you would expect, want, or think of whether in the room or around the property. But what really sets this apart from not just other hotels, or other O&O resorts, or most other resorts is the attention to detail, the full certainty it gives guests about every single aspect of the experience and friendliness of every single member of staff at the hotel. No request was forgotten, every single question I had was answered extensively and accurately, and every single intention I had for what the stay could have been was fulfilled. Whether it is down to my driver knowing exactly which hike and gorilla family to assign me to, asking for sliced avocado the afternoon before as a snack for the gorilla trek the following day and every single server knowing who I was and that request, or even having multitudes of ice ready to add into the cold plunge, there was no other way I could have thought of that would have made the stay better. Of course you come to the hotel to see Gorillas and it is basically guaranteed when you come that you will, but when you are at the hotel, it gives you the sanctuary at home feel that you get really anywhere else. I would choose here no question if you are looking for the best gorilla experience and want everything absolutely taken care of.

Let me simply state that this amazing accommodation is everything that we could have ever hoped for. The attention to detail is top shelf in every imaginable aspect. We were first time gorilla trekkers and we had our share of trepidation about the process. The staff at the One & Only Gorilla’s Nest completely assuaged all of our worries. They provided water and snacks for the trail and helpdesk gear before we departed. The accommodations are beautiful in a surreal jungle setting. I came into this trip, thinking it would be a once in my life trip. I am already surveying in the future for a return. Do yourself a favor and end your search and book your room at this slice of Heaven.

This is the best experience we had in our entire life and I would say it's the best exclusive resort not only in Rwanda but in Africa, every details they had with us was amazing, no word to describe the whole magical resort, The GM was the nicest and an amazing person. The stay at the One and Only Gorilla Nest was a magical experience that exceeded all expectations. The attention to detail, warmth and friendliness of every staff member and the food was nothing short of incredible. My partner has food allergies and every staff member was aware and each meal was a delight as the chef adapted to meet the allergy requirements. Amazing. One and Only Gorilla Nest has thought of everything to make the day of your trek seamless and enjoyable. Our driver Oliver was sensational and was instrumental in organising a gorilla trek that met our fitness requirements and experience we were hoping to have. From the lunch and snacks available to take on the trek, celebration drinks, massage and cleaning of our hiking boots everything was thought of. We stayed in a Forest View room and it was beautiful and spacious. The fire place and deep soaking bath in the room created a blissful ambiance that was perfect after a long day. The staff ensured our mini bar was stocked with items we liked , the room was always spotless and the laundry service was invaluable. The gym, pool and wellness area are peaceful and perfect. The view from each area including the sauna is picturesque. I can’t wait to return.
