This was the first hotel in China that made a strong impression on the exceptionally great service back when I was living in China back in 2009.
Everything is effortless yet well thought of. I stayed at the Jinling Hotel 15 years ago with my wife. 15 years on we came back with our young children and the service remains as exceptionally impeccable. You can tell right from the GM (Mark) through to the front desk (Leo Huo) the service comes from the heart. Thank you Leo for taking care of me and my family during our short stay in Nanjing. Keep up the good work and looking forward to our next stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Jinlin, and I highly recommend it! The hotel’s location is excellent, making it easy to travel to any part of Nanjing. It’s also surrounded by numerous malls, which made dining very convenient—especially since my family loves picking up bread and pastries from the nearby bakeries.
The hotel staff provided exceptional service, ensuring our room was well-maintained with daily housekeeping and fresh fruit top-ups. They were also very generous with mineral water, knowing we consumed a lot.
One of the highlights was the stunning view from the lounge, which made for a truly relaxing experience. My only regret is that we missed the free dinner buffet at the lounge.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends!

Beautiful hotel room and great customer service. We throughly enjoyed our stay here along with the wonderful breakfast options. They had a mix of Western and Chinese style breakfast items available. The hotel is also very centrally located and is a short subway ride away from almost all attractions.

Thoroughly impressed with the service we received at the hotel . The staff went out of their way to help us. They offered advice ordered taxis and took the trouble to escort us to the taxi every time . One young lady at the concierge desk spent over half an hour with us Helping us organise our day , book tickets and write place names in Chinese and English. I think her name was chlois - she was exceptional.
I thought the bowl of fruit and the free fridge drinks were also a nice touch .

We have just left the hotel after a short 2 night stay and wish we were staying longer. Jinling Hotel in Nanjing is fantastic - great location, nice large rooms, all the facilities you would expect from a top tier five star hotel and even a Dyson hairdryer in the room! But the best feature of this hotel that made our stay special has been the staff at Jinling. We frequently stay at luxury hotels including all the well known international brands and found the service at Jinling particularly top notch. From the bellboys jumping to help with our luggage as soon as we pulled into the hotel to checking in and every smile since, we will be sad to leave tomorrow. Special shout outs to: Ula at reception who patiently explained everything and gave us her wechat which we used to ask questions through our stay and she always responded promptly, Sammi who ran up some additional things for my daughter and was just so friendly and helpful, Liao Lifang and Allen at the health club/pool who explained all the facilities and Miss Liao in particular who seemed to be a very experienced swimmer and giving tips to doing laps and very quick to offer us water and made our trip to the pool a very memorable one for us, gentleman at the cake shop downstairs (unfortunately we didn’t catch his name) who gave us coffee as we waited for our pastry order. Through these staff and all others we encountered in our short stay, it is very apparent that this hotel values their customer experience and it is executed flawlessly. We highly recommend this hotel!

I’d say 80% of the cost to stay owe to the hotel service. We truly felt the hospitality the moment stepped out of our car to the lobby. From the doorman to room service and club lounge, everyone was professional and helpful. Xiao Wei and Xiao Shi visited our room and gave my daughter a welcome toy. I was particularly impressed by Echo at the reception, she had been a private concierge for us, answering our questions and requests with prefect solutions. Given the crazy pricing and crappy service in the Bay Area, we almost felt guilty that giving tips was uncommon in China.
However, there were a few problems that we noticed.
- Don’t stay in the old building (Jinling tower) and choose the new building. The room in Jinling tower smelled like water damage in some old apartment. I was surprised that the room was even offered and couldn’t imagine anyone would stay there.
- Apparently the non-smoking policy was not honored by some guests, and the staff failed noticing that when offered the room to us.
- The hotel was hosting a few conferences during our stay. The lunch buffet was super crowded. It seemed happening pretty often, and I wondered why the hotel didn’t cater the conferences in separate banquet rooms as apparently there were quite a few.
