Hotels in Xinjiekou Area/Presidential Palace, Nanjing

A visit to Nanjing isn’t complete without staying at the legendary Jinling Hotel. Its history and thoughtful service make it worthwhile. Special thanks to Odette, the concierge, who warmly explained the Executive Floor benefits and even greeted me personally. Matthew’s efficient check-in at the Executive Lounge was smooth, and the 56th-floor breakfast with city views was fantastic. The restaurant manager was also very welcoming. A big thanks to my housekeeper, Xiao Yi小艺! I’ll definitely choose Jinling Hotel again.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from Deji Plaza, a prominent luxury shopping destination. It's also incredibly convenient to reach major department stores like Xinjiekou Department Store, Central Shopping Mall, and Grand Ocean Department Store. A great perk is being able to quickly return to your clean and comfortable room after grabbing a drink from one of the many popular milk tea shops nearby. Furthermore, Xinjiekou Station, a major interchange for Metro Lines 1 and 2, is conveniently located only 200 meters away. This prime access allows for direct 10-minute subway rides to key attractions like the Presidential Palace and Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple), taking all the hassle out of sightseeing planning.

A day before our arrival, the customer service center called to meticulously confirm our reservation and provide all necessary information in advance. Arriving early at 9 AM on the day, the lobby manager and front desk staff greeted us warmly and assisted us with luggage storage, making for a very smooth start. When we returned in the evening to check in, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the 27th floor! The views were spectacular, and the room was spacious and bright – everything was perfectly comfortable. What’s more, there’s a dedicated transparent sightseeing elevator exclusively for high-floor guests, adding to a truly exclusive feel! Upon returning from the Qinhuai River in the evening, we found that housekeeping had tidied our room. We were delighted to discover they had even prepared a cutlery set for the complimentary fruit on the table – such a thoughtful and comforting touch! Overall, our entire stay felt like a high-level VIP experience. As a guest who had only booked a superior economy room, I was truly overwhelmed by such exceptional pampering. My sincere gratitude to Nanjing Tianfeng Hotel for their impeccable care and thoughtful attention to detail! We are truly thankful!

Service : excellent as i arrived at the midnight they chat me tho to ensure my whereabout. Mr Wang- King even gave us breakie coupon for 2 pax. Thats a very kind of you. Thank you Location : near xinjiekou line 2 but you have to walked for 15-20 mins, the nearest one is line 3 tianfuyuan walked for 8-10 mins Cleanliness & amenities : pretty clean, smart toilet, smart yifeiyifei🤩 Overall staying 3 nights here is pretty nice.

Pros: The room is good for the price and is located in my most loved neighborhood of Nanjing. Best area to have snacks and to chill a night, open till 22:00. The hotel in general is ok and well decorated. Cons: when I first arrived the cleanliness level was ok BUT I found some hair on the ground. The shower was leaking water on the ground everytime I took it and it got clogged. The last day the air conditioner broke down and I ask for reparation. Nobody even answered me on WeChat. I also asked for a lighter duvet (since it’s August and they gave me a very thick one) but the receptionist said it wasn’t possible. It’s not the best out there but it’s ok for a few days since the location is good and quiet. Near laomendong but still not noisy at night

The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find. There's direct underground access from Xinmofan Malu Metro Station on Line 1, and it's just a short walk from there to the hotel. Upon check-in, the front desk informed me my room wasn't quite ready, but they kindly upgraded my room type, allowing for a smooth check-in. While the room itself was satisfactory, there was a noticeable sewage smell coming from the bathroom sink. I contacted the front desk, and they immediately dispatched an engineer who promptly resolved the issue. Kudos to their incredibly swift and effective response! Even when I woke up late on the second day, the front desk proactively called to inquire when I'd like housekeeping service. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay, and I'll definitely choose Ascott for my future stays in Nanjing!

The hotel is located in Xinjiekou, just a few minutes' walk from Deji Plaza. The room was super spacious and spotlessly clean. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely book again. My only suggestion would be to replace the bottled water provided, as it's inconvenient to carry around when going out.

Highly recommend!!! It is one of the few hotels that before you leave you just want to come again already. All the previous positive reviews are true and even better when you are there in person. A very nice hotel in the old town of Nanjing with friendly and helpful staff. The room was bright, clean, and equipped with everything you could need. Breakfast was served outside the hotel at a restaurant directly across the street. Guests could choose their own breakfast selection. It's recommended to experience the quiet atmosphere in the streets around the hotel early in the morning. It gets very busy during the day.

I brought my sister here for a trip before university started. We heard they offer quite a spread, boasting five meals a day. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, while lunch and afternoon tea were just average. The service was genuinely thoughtful and incredibly responsive – they truly catered to our every need! A huge shout-out to our driver! He was incredibly eloquent, sharing fascinating insights into Nanjing's history throughout our rides. My sister remarked that he clearly not only loves his job but also has a deep passion for Nanjing! Staying at The Ritz-Carlton made it incredibly convenient to visit places like Deji Plaza, Jiming Temple, and the Nanjing Museum. Oh, and a side note: the hotel toothbrushes were surprisingly the most comfortable we've ever used!
