Grand Hotel Riviera - Cdshotels

The location is right on the waters edge, with the perfect day beds to enjoy the ocean front. The room is very generous in size, although we had ongoing issues with the airconditioning and it may be an Aussie thing - but no iron and only the option to wait 24 hrs for “laundry” if you needed anything pressed as it’s deemed a “health issue” to have one in the room. (Not ideal when you’re living out of a suitcase.) The Hotel prides itself on ‘being green’, but it just felt like that was an excuse to cut corners on the what they offer. The bikes on offer - were more like they were picked up from a thrift shop - but worked for a morning to travel a little further around the corner. Be sure to enjoy the insane sunsets!

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Riviera for one week and had the best time ever. The hotel is modern, comfortable and very clean. The food in the restaurant is very good with well balanced menus and the hotel is situated only 5 minutes walk to many other restaurants and bars if needed. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful especially Mattia the barman who makes an amazing Old Fashioned

Nice hotel and our welcome very late at night was extremely warm and they had even prepared a meal for us and opened the restaurant. The room service/cleaning was the best we've ever had...sheets changed every day, towels twice a day. However, there were several things that need improvement, especially for English guests. *Tea/coffee making facilities need upgrading.....there were two tea bags (good job I brought my own) no milk at all...I had to ask for some every day...and PAPER cups!...really! I asked for some cups and was given those tiny things that hold two mouthfuls. *Only one chair on the balcony so you couldn't both sit and enjoy the view/sunset. *Lack of signage in the hotel...it took me two days to find the pool. * Advertising in the foyer for local tours was redundant as they had ended... why?... especially as there is no local transport or any taxis in the resort. *Only place to sit outside was at the front, roadside, which was very noisy and there were only three tables with three chairs each...hardly enough for a large hotel. *So much lovely space outside on the first floor (roof of the dining room) totally unused...this could have had chairs and tables for people to congregate and get to know each other. *The morning goods at breakfast were vast but the only hot food was scrambled egg, underdone bacon and hot dog style sausages. These were not refilled until somebody complained about the empty trays. Having said all that, the food was excellent and the dining staff were very friendly .

Wonderful hotel, helpful and attentive staff. Room was cleaned every morning and again in the evenings - fresh towels ready for the morning. Hotel was spotless. Nice little decked area at front of hotel with beds and umbrellas - private for hotel guests. Free shuttle bus to a private beach with a small charge for the beds.

We were very much looking forward to returning to this hotel, our first foreign holiday since the pandemic. It didn't disappoint. We had liaised with the hotel beforehand and upgraded to a Seaview room which was a special treat. My first love is the pool and there were never more than a dozen people there, making it very quiet. After lazing by the pool my husband would take a swim in the sea which is just over the road along with sunbeds and umbrellas. Breakfast is a very plentiful buffet which kept us going all day. At dinner, there was a choice of three dishes for each of the three courses, plus help yourself to a choice of desserts. Also, as a starter, you can help yourself to salad, meat and cheeses. The town has a buzz in the evenings and is a ten minute stroll from the hotel. All the staff were excellent, but we must single out Alessandro on reception and Michele in the dining room. We really hope to return again one day.

We stayed in this hôtel for 7 weeks and booked a comfort room. We are a bit disapointed. Our room 305 was small, in a corner, and unfortunately no balcony. Our daughter stayed in à standard room 129 and thé room was more comfortable and brighter than ours. Further the hotel was oké. We liked the private Beach. Bring watershoes or you will hurt your feet. Dinner Music is very loud. Make sure you sit inside. Not every employer at the réception was friendly… one of the guys made us feel stupid by asking some questions. Thé girl was quite thé opposite, very friendly. So hôtel oké but not super regarding thé service and thé price.

The location - seafront - is perfect. The staff - kind, helpful, and professional - each and every one of them, and at all times. There is a 24 hour Reception service with warm and accommodating staff, and private parking. Rooms are large and bright, well furnished, with aircon, a big safe, a kettle for coffee and tea, etc., a well-stocked refrigerator, flat-tv, terrace, and a large bathroom with gifted toiletries. Wifi is excellent and available, free-of-charge, throughout the property. Hygiene and Housekeeping - excellent; never have we met such a competent Housekeeping team before; truly exceptional, and outstandingly discreet. Rooms are made up twice a day, and the gorgeous towels, large, white and immaculate, are checked for change twice a day. We really appreciated this. Food - scrumptious - with an amazing Chef who presented an enormous variety of top-notch cuisine giving such great attention to fine detail. Extraordinary imagination and finesse, and at the same time so hearty and healthy. Remarkable. A selection of beaches to choose from, and we mainly took advantage of the crystalline one in front of the Hotel, firstly because we love a rocky beach, but mostly because it was extremely beautiful, private, and so well organised. This area is decidedly well-kept and efficiently organised. The Hotel also serves food here. Furthermore, there is the attentive presence of a life guard, at all times. The Hotel Director is always present, and hands on. He was also actively engaged in the the many delightful, but never invasive, events organised for the pleasure of his guests. The musicians that entertained us were absolutely awesome. An overall magnificent holiday (twenty days!), that we shall cherish the memory of.

Fabulous hotel. After 12 nights, breakfast was pretty boring..perhaps a chef cooking eggs? Reception staff were helpful and welcoming Breakfast staff were great, however on the 2 nights we ate in the hotel, we found those not quite so welcoming and everything was rushed. Pool too small for full hotel especially with 5/6 kids inflatables Sea area was great except for the rules re booking beds for half a day..just relaxing and have to move 2 beds away because your one is booked?? Non existent taxis, strange for Italy..had to pay €90 for return trip, through hotel, to Gallipoli 9 miles away. Room with partial sea room was perfect for evening G&T on balcony.

The hotel is perfectly located, pool and Lido are great. The hotel is well presented and very clean, the staff are welcoming and friendly always with a smile. We had a mini break of 3 nights and throughly enjoyed every minute, this place is a hidden gem and not over crowded especially this time of year. Big thank you to all the staff, we will be back for another stay.
