The Leeway

Owner personal contact was excellent and she treated us extremely well. Two separate rooms are big and work very well for us when someone needs a quiet place to rest. There is a backyard that face the creek that is very relaxing. Highly recommended when going to Castkill area！

We stayed at The Leeway with our family from July 7th to 9th in a two-bedroom apartment, and it was a truly special experience. We were especially impressed by the beautifully landscaped grounds and the breathtaking views of the river and mountains — they honestly left us speechless. It’s the kind of place where you just want to sit with a cup of coffee, listen to the birds, and enjoy the peacefulness. The hotel itself is very clean, with comfortable beds, crisp white linens, and a pleasant scent of wood in the air. Each bedroom has small windows that help you sleep as long as you like — perfect for rest and relaxation. Everything in the space is tastefully chosen — the furniture, the dishes, the little touches — all done with great care and style. In the evenings, we loved playing board games by the fireplace. One very kind gesture I’ll never forget: the hosts kindly lent me a phone charger after I accidentally left mine at home. It was such a thoughtful and sweet thing to do. On the first day, before check-in, we visited some nearby waterfalls and went hiking. On the second day, we did the Rail Explorers ride and had an absolute blast — highly recommended! We will definitely return to this magical place. Thank you for everything!

Amazing place in great atmosphere with seamless check-in experience. You can enjoy the nature surrounding the lodge. I 100% recommend you to visit, although I don’t want to share with my friends as Leeway has to be our secret place.

Great communication and the entry instructions were perfect. The property was beautiful and the room had everything I needed - it was comfortable, adorable, and functional. It was private but also central enough to everywhere I needed to go. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights at the Leeway and loved it. We've been coming upstate for years and staying at various places and this one is our favorite so far. Our unit was like its own entire cabin, it felt private and had a well equipped full kitchen, living room, and cozy TV room in addition to the bedroom and full bath. The amenities and decor were stylish and thoughtful. We worked remotely for part of our stay and it was perfect for that, we appreciated having the space to spread out and work in separate rooms, and the Wi-Fi was fast. We had simultaneous zoom calls with no issues. The location is great too... we took our coffee down to the Esopus Creek every morning, which borders the property, and sat on Adirondack chairs watching the river go by.... heavenly. And the Phoenicia Diner is so close we were able to beat the crowds there for breakfast in the morning. Overall I'd say it was a 10/10, wish we could have stayed longer, and we plan to come back.

Came here for a weekday getaway from the city with my boyfriend. The rooms were very cool and well-designed. Love the wood paneling. Very homey but also modern. There is a BEAUTIFUL river out back. Perfect for campfires and comfy hammocks. The setting is so pretty and peaceful. Can't wait to go back!
