Good location, easily walkable to main town/ restaurants/train station. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Breakfast (fruit, scrambled egg, bread) was tasty. Would say the floor in the room wasn’t particularly clean- dusty/dirt/hair, but wore flip flops to get round this.

When booking & upon arrival we informed the host we needed to leave at 5:30am to catch a train. She said she would be in the office for checkout. We waited around & looked for someone but it reached 5:45am & there was no one to be found when we needed to leave. They had our card on file so we dropped our keys at the front desk & left. She sent very rude messages on WhatsApp to us and proceeded to threaten to charge us 3x the amount because we did not formally check out when no one was around to check out with. We had train tickets to leave at 6am & we nearly missed our train because she made us come back to “formally” check out. Rooms had many bugs & they refused to provide us any hand towels or extra towels. Highly suggest staying else where.

The establishment here is quite reasonable. It's a family run business and the staff are professional and friendly. The rooms are large and have windows, beds are comfortable enough, shower is quite good as is the breakfast. It's not a buffet. Instead we are served a plate of fruit, consisting of mango, papaya and water melon, a plate of scrambled eggs with buttered toast and coffee. The main downside to this hostel is the location. It's on the road into town, so lot's of heavy traffic, with no convenience store or cafes nearby. It's quite an unpleasant walk negotiating the traffic while walking across the stones. My only other complaint is the small sheet provided that is too small for the bed. For these reasons I am giving the hostel three stars.

I walked in to this hotel after finding it on online and asked for a room. The female owner walked me to my room while her husband helped with my suitcases. She talked to me while I unpacked some things from my book bag and I then left to go eat dinner. When I arrived back to my room, my book bag was gone! Along with my Apple laptop, tablet, passport and all my skincare products. There was NO forced entry into the room which means that someone with a key stole my things out of the room. When I frantically went to the owner she stated “that a man had checked into the hotel directly after me and he left shortly after I went to dinner and never returned. He must have followed me and stolen my things.” I find it odd that a man would take a bag filled with skincare and how did he get into my room?? This was her story. I asked for camera forage and was told “there are no cameras on the property.” I went to the police and filed a report, unfortunately they could not hold the hotel owners responsible because there were no cameras and “I couldn’t prove my things were taken.” AND I paid for the stay! I was in distress for days after. Had to spend hundreds of dollars to change flights and pick up an emergency passport in Lima and had to extend my stay until my passport was ready. The hotel owners were not held accountable at all because I didn’t book through a platform, I just walked in. I’ve learned my lesson and want to warn travelers to not stay at this property. No justice! Travelers BEWARE and stay away just out of principle 🙏🏼

Look no further! Casa Inka embodies all of the goodness of this sweet town. This is a family run B and B and they will welcome you with open arms. Naomi and Rojo made sure we always had everything we’d need to enjoy our stay. The property is set on tiers going up the mountainside, each room is spacious and clean and has a little outdoor space to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There are hammocks and swings and even a hiking trail climbing up into the mountains from the top of their property. The outside hides the gem that awaits you behind its Incan door! We felt immediately connected to the authentic experience of Ollanta! Naomi offered us delicious avocado, mango, eggs, locally baked bread, butter and jam, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee and tea for breakfast every morning. We spent a week at Casa Inka before moving to an air bnb where we lived for two months. When we left, Naomi and her oldest son Mauricio helped us move our luggage all the way to our new place! We were so sad to leave and have such warm memories from our week at Casa Inka! Ollantaytambo is a beautiful town, filled with archeological sites and picturesque scenes at every turn. Stay for longer than just a stop over en route to Machu Picchu— take time to soak in the beauty of the people and the colorful cobblestone streets of this living Inkan village! You won’t be disappointed! Heidi, Annabelle and Lily😌
