Don't miss this place on your way to Machu Picchu. Fantastic views, unbelievable rooms and an incredibly friendly staff who will cater to your every need. If you like adventure sign up for the Via Ferrata along with the suspension bridge and zipline. An incredible place with the magic of the Andes all around you.

This is a difficult review to write because I really wanted to love this place but it failed on many levels. I think for the discerning traveller, this place would be a disappointment. The concept is fabulous but the execution fails. I would say Vertical Sky has nothing on its vastly superior neighbour StarDome Lodge which we also stayed at on the same family trip. I strongly recommend the latter as a luxurious experience at 1/4 the cost!! PROS -location— beautifully perched on an Andean mountain. Pretty spectacular views high above—stunning -Staff very nice and friendly—all male-see below for additional commentary -The capsules are really cool and it’s amazing to stay in one high up with nothing below -Quiet and peaceful -Restaurant was nice but very cold-see below. -Food-not bad, have had better, not included in $850 USD a night capsule. Add $30 USD per person. -To get to the capsule is an adventure in itself-really cool. Must be guided to it by staff. CONS -cleanliness—the capsule felt unclean and tired-curtain rod fell off, was glued with some sticky paste. The capsule felt lightly unclean-hairs, dead flies on the curtain above the queen bed, the windows were difficult to open, and 2/3 got stuck during our stay and couldn’t be opened. The “blind” divider between bed areas and bathroom tattered, old, broken drawstring. The jacuzzi very old and discoloured, looked unclean—wife was disgusted. Overall not a very well-maintained capsule and unacceptable for a $850 USD a night accommodation. -Food-Dinner not included at $30USD a person—should be included for such a high room price. Decent food, not exceptional. -Heat—was cold at night: had an electric space heater but drew so much power that the lights in the room dimmed and flickered constantly—so annoying -Activities—Via Ferrata, zip line (1 only at 250 metres), and suspension bridge not included in high price: $60USD per person -Staff—although extremely nice, the all male staff feels like it is missing a female touch wrt cleanliness/service/attention to detail—we stayed a night at StarDome Lodge just below this place and it was awesome beyond expectations at 1/4 the price. SUMMARY While a neat experience, I would not recommend Vertical Sky Suites. The cons far outweigh the pros and all 4 members of my family agree. They have an incredible concept but the execution falls way short of expectations for such a ridiculously high price. If all capsules are like the one we stayed at and you are a discerning traveller as we are, then prepare to be very underwhelmed and disappointed I feel. Do yourself a huge favour: save $600USD a night and stay at StarDome Lodge instead just below this property-same wonderful views-possibly even better, exceptionally clean rooms with awesome amenities, an exceptional restaurant with fireplace and incredible food and service and only $19USD per person!!

The most adventurous activity I have done so far was staying at the vertical sky capsules. Yes we were anxious and fearful after reading all the crazy reviews online include the fodors reveiw, but I can pleasantly report it was nothing as scary as the reviews state. I travelled with 3 adults (of which 2 were below 26) and a 12 yr old. It was sure requires effort in terms of going up to capsule but once you are there, they bring the dinner to you. The staff is super helpful every step of the way. The capsule have jacuzzi. The food at the restaurant was very good, lot of vegetarian choices. I would highly recommend this experience.

Great experience with friendly and knowledgeable staff with a passion for the region. Much more about the experience than the luxury, but the room was very nice and the food was fantastic. One of a kind experience, just know what you are expecting going in.

My family and I recently stayed at Vertical Sky Suites and we could not have been more happy about our time there. The hotel is incredibly unique with the pods and domes, that provide incredible views of the Sacred Valley and the heart of Incan culture. The dwellings are very unique, and a wonderful experience for those looking for something different and a bit more on the adventurous side. The location is one of a kind, it certainly is not for the faint of heart as the small paths to the hotel and to the dwellings can be a bit strenuous but it's well worth it. The food is incredible, Milton was very informative about where the food comes from, and the kitchen staff is very talented to create delicious meals in a small kitchen. Evelina our waitress/bartender was very kind and accommodating. The hotel was able to set up a traditional Incan meal "Pachamanca" with locals, we really felt immersed in the culture. Our host Ed "El Puma" was attentive and not only took us on private tours around the valley but was also very informative and passionate about his country and culture. Highly recommend this hotel for those looking to experience something unique and adventurous. We look forward to returning.

Incredible experience staying at Vertical Sky! The views are unmatched, service was great and the room was very comfortable. A must in Sacred Valley if you’re looking for a unique experience and don’t mind the short uphill walk to room.

Once in a lifetime experience! Excellent service and spectacular views. Eddy and the whole team were very responsive from the time of inquiry, through making the booking, and the stay itself. Would recommend if you’re in the valley. Note: some of the capsules are harder to get to than others. For the adventurous folks, that’s great! For folks not looking for that kind of adrenaline, you might want to choose an easier to access capsule. All the domes are easy access!

This was an incredible stay. The staff (Eddie/Peter/William/Victor/etc) were all very accommodating, dedicating very attentive service and sharing intricate knowledge of the land. The food was great: all organic and made to order. We stayed in domes that had amazing views that allowed a strong connection to the land and mother nature. The domes have their own bathrooms, fridges, and space heaters.
