The Poom Cafe Resort Khao Yai

Deceptive advertising and unacceptable conditions. The resort’s website claimed there was a swimming pool, but it’s only available to guests staying in pool villas—something they failed to mention clearly. I booked thinking my room was part of the main hotel area, but it was tucked away in a separate, neglected building. The exterior of the resort was shockingly untidy. Debris scattered around, overgrown weeds, and a general sense that the place hadn’t been maintained in ages. There was even a storage building in plain sight, crammed with old furniture and stained mattresses—an eyesore that made the whole place feel abandoned. Inside, things didn’t improve. The bed and sheets were covered in disturbing stains, reminiscent of a crime scene. The mattress was in such poor condition I couldn’t bring myself to sleep on it. After complaining, the staff moved me to another property under the same ownership, but that room was dusty, the bathroom filthy, and still far below acceptable standards. I had already paid, so I felt trapped. On the first night, there were other guests. By the second night, I was the only person in the entire resort. It was eerie and unsettling, and I ended up checking out early. Avoid this resort at all costs—it’s a complete disappointment.
