This hotel isn't a modern high rise, but it we loved the old ambiance fitting of the history of the city. The front desk persons were friendly and helpful. Our room was a mix of old and new with a open brick wall and a fireplace. It was comfortable and quiet (request a room in the back of the hotel). The jacuzzi bath tub was a nice addition. If I had anything negative to say is that we could hear a lot of heavy feet in the room above (we were on the 2nd floor). Other than that, I'd definitely stay here again and would also love the opportunity to eat in their restaurant. We did have a drink at the very cool, sort of swanky, bar and the bartender was friendly and personable. Overall, we loved staying at Penn's View Hotel!
