Hotels in Inside Pingyao Ancient City, Pingyao

The hotel is housed in a beautifully preserved historic building. The room I stayed in was comfortable, clean, and pleasant. The inner courtyard, with seating areas and where breakfast is served, is charming and gives the impression of stepping back in time. The location is excellent as well, just a 5-minute walk from the most touristic part of the old town. Breakfast is Chinese style and, personally, I found it a bit weak, but that doesn’t take away from the charm of the hotel.

Our family of four visited Pingyao, and after booking a standard room, we quickly found it a bit cramped. The front desk staff graciously offered us a complimentary upgrade to a much larger room featuring a traditional *kang* bed. This was incredibly thoughtful and such a kind gesture! The room itself was very spacious, boasting a unique and luxurious decor. The *kang* bed was surprisingly soft and exceptionally comfortable. The courtyard was also expansive and very beautiful. While we occasionally saw people taking travel photos there, thankfully, it didn't disturb our peace and quiet. Upon check-out, they even presented us with some local Pingyao specialties and kindly drove us to the city gate. A huge thank you to the staff at Tian Juanyuan for their outstanding service!

Absolutely amazing experience and hospitality at a beautiful guesthouse in Pingyao. The hosts were the most friendly and hospitable hosts, and helped us with all of our needs. The room was great, with a huge bed, strong wifi, and good shower. The view in the courtyard is exceptional and you could stay there all day to look at the beauty. The location is very central, near all the major sights and streets, but also tucked down a quiet street. Thank you so much to the hosts for a wonderful time and feeling like family!

Really love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

The environment is super good! ! It is within the ancient city, but not in the most prosperous commercial area, so it is very, very quiet! It's only a few minutes' walk to the commercial district, very convenient. The boss will pick up your luggage at the city wall, and breakfast will be delivered to your room at the agreed time. Most importantly, the yard is gorgeous. It’s a pity that we can’t hire a photographer to take pictures, so let’s just keep them in our memories!

We traveled as a family of five to Pingyao and stayed three nights at the Jinxuan hotel. The stay was an absolute delight, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They picked us up from the train station which made it very easy to find a place. Jinxuan it’s located in the very heart of Pingyao and everything is easy to reach on foot. The facilities are simple and clean, the rooms are located in a very quiet patio of one of the traditional houses in in Pingyao. We stayed in a duplex room that offered lots of space for a family. The breakfast is traditional Chinese and the hosts spoiled us on the last day with some homegrown corn and tomatoes. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, we can absolutely recommend this place. 

We booked this place near the west gate of pingyao ancient city. The hotel is in a historical building with beautiful decorations. The room was in the same style with typical kang bed. The room was very clean and the host left us a gift on arrival. All the staff talks English. Upon arrival Fanny shown us all the tours and the details on the city map and helped us book our tickets for the city attractions. We also enjoy playing Gomoku either her in the courtyard in the evening. Breakfast is typical Chinese but you can also have western breakfast with a little fee. Helen help us with the laundry and to find our way out of the city walls which was very nice! Warmly advice for a trip to Pingyao!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming place located right in the heart of the ancient town. The large, beautiful courtyard provided a beautiful scene and the pick-up and drop-off service was really convenient. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and we were even given a lovely farewell gift. The flexibility of being able to leave a day earlier to visit another city was also thankfully no problem. While the buildings are historic and full of character, it does come with the challenge of less soundproofing in the rooms, which led to some noises like talking at night. However, this is entirely understandable given the age and historic value of the building. Overall, it was a great experience.

This B&B's service is truly exceptional! From the electric tricycles that helped transport our luggage to the welcome fruit upon check-in and the small gift upon check-out, every detail felt truly thoughtful. The convenient location, easy parking, clean and comfortable rooms, and even the restaurant recommendations were spotless and satisfying! This experience truly deserves a five-star recommendation!

The selection of B&Bs in Pingyao Ancient City is truly overwhelming. After repeated rounds of searching, I finally settled on Xingshengjiu. The experience exceeded my expectations, and I truly made the right choice. 📍Location: Convenient, tranquil amidst the bustle. Located in a quiet alley in the heart of the ancient city, it's a 10-minute walk from the bustling South Street. 💁♂️Service: Attentive, caring, and proactive 24-hour butler service. 1) Arrival: Immediately contacted via WeChat upon booking. Upon arrival, a sightseeing shuttle was picked up from the Guanbei parking lot outside the city, and the staff warmly greeted me. 2) Tours: Proactive suggestions and maps were provided during outings. Even sightseeing shuttles were arranged for trips outside the city. 3) Every time I encountered the hotel staff, they were enthusiastic and helpful. 4) Check-out: A shuttle was booked to the parking lot, and a small set of aged vinegar was given as a souvenir. 🛏️Rooms: Brand-new facilities, modern comfort 1) A two-story, two-courtyard, two-story courtyard house, designed in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The tatami we booked was spacious and bright. The room was modern in design and amenities, including a tea table with Xiaodu automatic control. 2) The 4-meter king-size bed was high-quality and very comfortable. 3) The bathroom had separate wet and dry areas, a powerful shower 🚿, and thick, soft towels. The pink Lefen hairdryer was both stylish and powerful. 🍵Breakfast: Jin-style snacks and aged vinegar tasting Whether it's the small buffet on the first day or the nine-square set menu on the second day, you can savor local specialties. The bar also offers four flavors of aged vinegar: healthy Polygonatum odoratum vinegar and Ganoderma lucidum vinegar, as well as beauty-enhancing red date vinegar and mulberry vinegar. 💁♀️Value-added Services and Amenities 1) The Starbucks location is a unique feature, with guests receiving a complimentary Starbucks coffee and afternoon tea. 2) A laundry room is also available. Stayed for two nights and the overall experience was very good, five-star praise.
