"This was my third visit to Pingyao, and the hotel's location was perfectly within my expected target – very close to the City God Temple, Confucius Temple, and South Street. Traveling with kids, my first choice is always a kang-bed room within the ancient city. When booking, I only focused on the size of the kang and overlooked the room's overall area. After checking in, I realized the room was a bit cramped with two kids and luggage. The next day, seeing other guests check out, I decisively upgraded the room, which significantly improved the kids' activity space. The owner was very welcoming; I contacted him in advance when we were close, and he waited for us in the parking lot. He was just as enthusiastic in dropping us back at the parking lot when we left. This guesthouse is a renovated old residence, making it easier for the kids to better understand and experience the glory of Jin Merchants."

Once you step inside, it's a whole different world – a truly exquisite and elegant courtyard. Looking up from the open-air patio, you see the bright moon at night and blue skies with white clouds during the day. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. They provided transportation tips in advance, gave us a free paper map of the ancient city, and even recommended key sights, routes, and local specialty dishes and restaurants."

"It was super super super noisy. At 1 a.m., someone was moving things on the rooftop. At 1:42 a.m., the neighbors started taking a shower for 20 minutes. At 7:30 a.m., the upstairs started moving things again. After a while, they kept moving things until 9 a.m.... At 8:50 a.m., a man made a harassing phone call, asking me if I had gotten up yet... I was speechless. I didn't know if he was here to rest or to survive. It was only this noisy when I went to a youth hostel to sleep on a big bunk bed. The price was three times more expensive than usual. There wasn't even a parking lot, so they made us park in the big iron gate next door. There wasn't even a camera in that broken factory building. If someone hit our car, they wouldn't be able to see it."
