Gallery Central Piraeus Port

Spent one night at the Hotel Gallery Central Piraeus Port as a layover for an early morning ferry ride to the island of Naxos and it absolutely served it’s purpose. The hotel is about 3 city blocks from the port of Piraeus. The rooms were clean, updated and had a good size. Breakfast was included and was fine. If not carrying too much luggage, you can actually walk. However, do your homework first as the port has many pier departures. My recommendation is to call a Taxi/Uber. The cost is no more than 6.00 Euros to the farthest pier and they drop you off directly in front of the ship.

What I liked: The room was spacious and airy, which was a definite plus and probably the reason for the hotel’s 4-star rating. The staff on reception were pleasant and professional throughout our stay. What I didn’t like: We arrived at 2:50 PM for a 3 PM check-in, but our room wasn’t ready. We were asked to wait in reception and didn’t get into our room until 3:30 PM. Once inside, we noticed some hairs left in the bathroom, which made it feel like it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Although the room was large, it felt quite dull and could use some updated interior design. There was also a strange patio area accessible from our room, with uncovered windows looking directly into other guests’ rooms — it offered no privacy and let in a lot of light at night due to the lack of a blind or curtain. The air conditioning couldn’t be controlled from the room, which was frustrating, and the walls were incredibly thin — we could hear everything from the rooms around us, including toilets flushing. Finally, the bed was hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

Where do I start, the front desk staff went beyond their duties to accommodate our needs, all of them! The hotel was beautiful
