Hostellerie am Schwarzsee

We have had a wonderful Christmas time with our family and stayed 4 nights here. The Hotel was very beautiful decorated, location and view are stunning, staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very spacious and clean.

Excellent hotel with 5 Star service. Great for séminaires. Nice for families with a lot of stuff to do for kids. Great choices in the restaurants and nice pool and sauna. In summer perfect for a swim in the lake in winter for an excursion to the nearby slopes.

1 start hotel at a push We stayed at this supposed to be 4 start hotel and did half board but we had a terrible experience The room was boiling hotel like as we were above the spa The beds were awful, the pillows were flat and saggy no feather left in them, they all seen better days The half board was an absolute joke because we couldn’t choice from the menu For 6 days we had 4 course meal salad, soup, main and dessert But there were all kids portions… Mains were okay but we had no options to choose as the hotel determined what we are having… Breakfast was another joke, mainly cheese and dried meat, eggs looked like powdered eggs. This only nice thing about this hotel was the staff smiling :) Otherwise absolute rip off so stay away, we cancelled midway through and found much nicer hotel

The hotel claims to be a 4 star hotel and yet at breakfast the hot breakfast was stale, scrambled eggs just left to dry up inside a warmer and bacon swimming in fat. No cereal other than granola, warm milk. Staff merely apologised and said my option was to complain at reception. We stayed at the hotel because it was reputed to be the best, clearly it’s not the best and ranks lower than a IBIS. If you are looking for quality and service then look at another hotel, this one is dreadful and offers nothing to the guest

We had a duplex family room for the 5 of us. Comfortable bed, Rooms for the children upstairs, sofas and a foldable bed in the living area, TV as well an adequate balcony with a wonderful view. There is also a medium size swimming pool with changing rooms/ facilities - great fun. The lake itself was so placid and great for boating (available for rent) and Stand up paddling. Restaurant with the panoramic view with delicious food for a reasonable price , served with a smile. We were well served by Sylvie. Our only regret was that we did not stay longer !!

The rooms of the Hostellerie are very large, in essence they are adapted from studio avpartments (the rooms I have been in had a liiving room-saloon area with pull down double bed and a separate sleeping room with double bed). The Wellness area is also of decent size and contains all the needed amenities . The location is beautiful, across a road to the lake shore with view on the surrounding muntains. The restaurant is good and serve local and international disehs (game when I was there) and also good pizzas. The only improvement I would recommend is to renew the rooms, in particular the bathrooms.

We organized a Hybrid Symposium here with around 18 physical participants. Everything ranging from the beautiful location, dine in service, as well as the videoconferencing and the general seminar facilities were amazing! The staff was extremely helpful, flexible and nice. Each one of us was impressed and felt their hospitality and would love to come back. I highly recommend it.

To be honest, I have only accidentally came across this hotel as I was looking for an affordable wellness weekend getaway in Switzerland over the Easter break and I really can't believe this was in the offer. So yes, affordable, I paid about CHF200 per night including a great breakfast buffet (with champagne), a pool that stays 24 hours and a wellness area that consists of 4 Sauna's (yes, 1 of them is with Hamam). All of this with the view of the lake and a great 1 hour walking path around the black lake.
