Overall, we had an excellent time at the Riu Palace Mexico. What makes this resort stand out is the staff, whoever is in charge of HR is doing a great job. Very professional and courteous. They do their best to keep the property well maintained, from inside of the hotel and surrounding areas to the landscaping. Overall, dining and the comfort level was quite good. I would definitely recommend this particular hotel.

We always stay at RIU palace, Mexico when we are in playa Del Carmen. We let the property the pool access to the beach the staff the food is actually pretty good most the time you can always find something you will enjoy.

I deducted 2 stars from being 5-star perfection for the following reasons:
- Lobby staff was rude when upon arrival I politely asked if there were any available rooms facing the pool/fountains.
- No welcome drink upon arrival.
The lobby staff steranly reminded me of my "garden-view" booking. They definitely had pool/fountain view rooms available, but they just prefer to leave them empty instead of upgrading their guests (especially return customers). Even more surprising was the fact that we did not get a welcome drink. I have received welcome drinks in hotels of much lower class than this one (very surprising).
Generally speaking, Riviera Maya Mexico is not the same post-pandemic. Pre-pandemic, the quality of service at all hotels was much higher and staff were more accommodating.
This hotel is nice but not worth the extra money when you can stay at their sister-locations (Tequila) right next door for a lower price. The food, drinks, and beach are the same, so the only reason why you would stay at this hotel is if you want the following perks:
-standard hot tub in room
-glamour of "palace" decor
-beach-side drink service from wait staff that come to your lounge
Otherwise, it was a good stay.

Riu Palace Mexico was an amazing resort to stay at. All of the staff are great and very supportive of any needs that may arise. The resort property is beautiful and the food is plentiful and delicious.
Looking forward to my next stay there.

Everything was amazing at this property. I will say a lot of all inclusive hotel do the best they can with the food, this hotel has really good food! The mini bar was restocked daily, and love that there was a liquor dispenser in our room. I contacted the property in advance in hopes of upgrading my room, there ended up being none available, but the hotel worked so well with me that they made sure the room I had was in a great location with an excellent view.
