Casa Santa Lucia was a fantastic place to stay in Manerba, a lovely Italian village in the hills with cobbled streets , scents of jasmine and awesome views. The accomodation can be tricky to find as it is off the main road up a cobbled lane and tucked in at the back. The room I had was a great size, immaculately clean with a modern large bathroom. The French door could be opened in the evening to enjoy both the breeze and the beautiful view and the area was quiet and peaceful. The bed was comfortable and the linen and towels were changed regularly. There is a seated area at the back of the property. Breakfast was a selection of breads, cold meats ,cheese and yoghurts and Sylvia , the host, was happy to cook eggs if preferred. Sylvia , was a lovely, helpful person and nothing semed to be too much trouble for her. She was available every morning at breakfast and could be easily contacted by email or phone. I was fortunate enough to meet her mother in law who was equally as lovely. It was a 20 minute walk to the lakeside - the best and shortest route was to turn left just before the grocers shop in the village and walk down from there. There is a bus stop 10 minutes from the property situated in front of the Restuarant Complice which goes to Desenzano in 25 minutes where you can access the ferry for some of the lovely Lake Garda towns. The bus back is just to the right of the ferry ticket office. Casa Santa Lucia was a great base for both relaxation and exploring the towns of Lake Garda and I had a fabulous stay!
