A charming, small, quiet traditional stone built hotel. Attention to detail and service were very good. View was amazing. You need a car, preferably an auto to help with the hills and hairpins! We stayed a week and really enjoyed our stay including: watching the water bombers practising (on Monday morning ), a trip on the lake and local visits. It is a shame the little green train no longer comes here.

We had a wonderful 10 day stay at Hotel Valkarana. Just as the temperature was beginning to get uncomfortable. The hotel is situated beautifully by a lake and is quiet and restful. There is a small village nearby for supplies and there are a number of restaurants, but we booked half board. Breakfast was simple continental, everything was fresh, and delicious. Our evening meal was fabulous every night. 4 courses, every one delicious. With some fruits and vegetables fresh from the hotels own garden. Our room was simple, traditional and very nice, with excellent Aircon thank goodness. The pools were clean, with just enough sun beds and shades. We would come back again.

What an amazing place! Salvatore, Vanni and the team made us welcome from beginning to end. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, gorgeous views all around and the food is exceptional. There is no better end to the day than enjoying a meal on the terrace watching the sun set on Lake Liscia. If you like bright lights and entertainment then Hotel Valkarana is not for you but if you like peace, relaxation, great food and drink and stunning scenery, not to mention impeccable, friendly service then book a stay and prepare to be spoilt. We will definitely be back!

This is a real gem of a hotel, in a very rural area outside of Olbia. The food is truly outstanding , some of the best I’ve had in Italy, serving 4 courses for dinner. The menu is not at all repetitive - we met a couple who ate in for two weeks with no repetition. House wine (Vermentino) is very good and reasonably priced at €9.00 half litre. We ate so well with breakfast and dinner, we only ate lunch once during our week’s stay! Staff are very welcoming (with smiles that reach the eyes) and accommodating and the rooms are spotlessly cleaned each day. The pool is a good size , with just enough sunbeds for all guests - I’m not sure if this will be the case if the planned extension goes ahead, though? We are returning next year as my husband was very jealous of all the foodie photos I bombarded him with and is itching to fish the lake.

This hidden gem was a surprise for its calm, tranquil beautiful setting. Salvatore, the owner and his staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. This out of the way resort over looked Lake Liscia. Views of the Lake and countryside were stunning. Extremely quiet and relaxing. The restaurant served 5 star quality dinners. This was the best part of the stay for sure. Everything was prepared perfectly. Service all around was amazing. Rooms are very spacious and simple. Nice pool area. If you are looking to spend some days in the quiet countryside of Sardinia, this is the best.

Just returned from a 5 day break at the Hotel Relais Valkarana. I was there to fish for black bass on Lake Liscia and my daughter Rosie just wanted to relax and unwind by the pool. The hotel itself, staff, food/drink, weather and fishing were all amazing. I’m already planning to return for a week next summer!

We have been here 9 times and this time we invited friends to stay. They loved it's peaceful location, friendly service and wonderful food. Wonderful location to stay. Staff and owner are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms and food are excellent. Great views. Nothing is too much for the staff or the owner. Very quiet and relaxing location with excellent food. If you’re looking for a relaxed stay, consider Valkarana.

In desperate need af a quiet break we booked this hotel hoping we would able to relax and unwind. The hotel and the wonderful views did not disappoint. The room was simply, yet adequately furnished but most importantly, clean. We didn't expect to eat dinner in the hotel as much as we did but we had some of our best meals here. The owner and his team are very helpful and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your time at their hotel and visiting their island. Loved it.
