The hotel is very beautiful, showing off the beauty of the sunrise over the Red Sea. There are three swimming pools, which are large and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is of high quality, especially the buffet. I hate buffets, but this high-quality and extremely rich buffet can last for several days.

The sea view room is still very beautiful, but the road in is still being repaired, there is a kind of isolation. It is also expensive to take a taxi to the city, more than 40km. If you like diving, there is a very beautiful underwater world here, but the deep asked the quotation is 50 euros, not cheap at all. Snorkeling saw very beautiful corals and fish. Can't live long, no nightlife.

The hotel is located in Soma Bay on the Red Sea, more than 40 kilometers from Hurghada Airport, not the majority of people living in Hurghada and Marti Bay. This position has advantages and disadvantages: the disadvantage is that there is no supporting business, there is no business to buy, no way to take a taxi, only the hotel car (no expensive); the advantage is quiet, the entire bay only Westin, Sheraton, Kempins Base and a diving club, so the beaches on the other side are European and American foreigners, did not see other Chinese. The Westin’s beach is far from the hotel and the hotel will be transported with the shuttle bus, so it is inconvenient to play with the sea. But we went to the Westin golf course, which was great. The facilities of the hotel are of course good, the building is renovated and the room pool gym breakfast, etc. are top notch. But I have to spit on the service. When checking in in the lobby, the attitude of the front desk was polite on the surface, but the room for us was particularly bad. I specially booked the golf sea view room and gave it to the far side. Since Soma Bay has not been fully developed, it is now undergoing major construction, giving me only 200 meters of work space in the room, which seriously affects the landscape and rest. I suggested that I had to change a room. The front desk lady was very reluctant to say that there was no sea view room. Then I insisted on asking, only to say that there was only a lower floor facing the room on the edge of the atrium pool. Later, when I was playing, I was close to the original room and found that there was no one in the area. If I stayed, I was the only one who lived near the construction site. After returning, I complained to Ctrip, and the hotel actually told us that Ctrip had changed the room. The sea view room has been upgraded to a pool room. The room service is basically not available. The service during the meal is also normal. After pouring the coffee, even if you add milk and sugar, you will walk away without much attention.

The Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but it’s also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted.
The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes.
We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a “honeymoon massage” at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyone’s taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along.
There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and it’s always worth checking out the “fresh-from-the-grill” area to see what the day’s speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from what’s served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddies’ menus).
The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but it’s good for the planet).
Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.

KKapoerdaierSomabay Kempinski in Hurghada. The room facilities, breakfast, dinner and beautiful views are all online. However, many netizens have mentioned that they are not as enthusiastic towards Asians as towards whites. For example, for breakfast for 3 days, I only met a waiter who took the initiative to ask what coffee I wanted on one day. No one asked for it on the other two days. When the waiter was collecting the plates, I mentioned that I needed coffee. He brought it almost 10 minutes later. During this period, he brought coffee and tea to several white guests who had just sat at the table next to me several times. He didn't forget, but he ignored you and was rude. It's not a communication problem in English. I have lived in the United States for more than ten years and I think I have no accent in English. Moreover, the waiter was very enthusiastic to bring coffee on the first day of the breakfast buffet, and I gave a tip. More than 90% of the tourists are white, and most of them don't tip, after all, it's just a breakfast buffet. However, the hotel is in a good location with a shuttle to the snorkeling pier. Walking to the supermarket and several restaurants next to it (I tried three Chinese and Western restaurants, all tasted average), it's not as good as the hotel dinner buffet. SOMABAY is very windy, very windy! I came from Beijing and I also felt that it was very strong... It's not good, so I can only go to the SPA. It's heated poor and I can't play in the lazy river. It's a pity...

LLvxingshizuihaodeliangyaoAfter all, it is an international brand, so there must be no problem with the facilities and location. It's just that the room in front of where we stayed was being renovated, and it looked messy. We wanted to change rooms and called the front desk, but after confirming for a long time, there was no confirmation. We only stayed for one night, so we didn't argue. Another point is that it is almost 60 kilometers away from the airport, so it's easy to get there but difficult to get back. You can help call a taxi at 9 o'clock, starting from 60 euros. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the sea boardwalk, and there is also a shuttle bus, which is suitable for people who like snorkeling, the sea is very blue!

Wwumingyang1111The hotel was quite good, but Ctrip marked the wrong location and we were picked up by a black car in the middle of the night! Later, I contacted Ctrip to replenish the fare. The location of Ctrip’s 45Km was wrong! The hotel includes three meals a day, and it’s pretty good to lie flat. It’s not as fun as snorkeling at the Aomabay Sheraton at the back. It’s only suitable for lying flat, and there’s not much to do.
