This property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality.
The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good.
The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age.
I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view.

Reasonable, the bed was put together with two singles, there was only one chair on the balcony, a low television was bad for watching in bed, a broken hairdryer had to be requested from reception, they only had a few replacement units, they kept taking them all the time, the pool closed very early, and we ran out of hot water one day and had to take a cold shower.
Good breakfast, very attentive people always cleaning and replacing things.

We stayed as a group of 3 couples on different floors of the hotel and the 3 days we were there, there was no water in any of the rooms. The reception admitted us to the hotel, already aware of the problem and did not inform us. By the time we were entering, several people were already complaining, but we thought this would be resolved on the same day or at the latest the next day. At all times they gave a false prediction and continued to accept new people into the hotel. We were not offered any alternative to the lack of water. Check in was also super slow and without the slightest amount of politeness and sensitivity towards those who were arriving, complaining or checking out. We took a cold shower in a pool area to avoid leaving dirty. I had a severe anxiety attack and witnessed several people crying and losing their temper due to the lack of organization and not having been offered any alternative. I request a full refund of the fee I paid as the paid service was not provided. I have a video of what happened, but I couldn't attach it here.

The hotel is well equipped. The service from the cleaning staff should be better. Towels were taken away but not replaced 1:1 and we then had too few towels. This happened every 3 days we were there. Refrigerator didn't work. Furnishings were a little outdated in the rooms and the mattress was a little worn out. However, the rest of the hotel was great. It's just a shame that the pool is at the back of the hotel and so the hours of sunshine are fewer because the sun is covered by the building.
