Etruska Luxury Trastevere Guesthouse

It couldn’t have been better! Paolo and Raul were impeccable from the start. The rooms are spectacular! Honestly, it was my sixth time in Rome, and I’ve stayed in 3/4/5-star hotels, but this was, without a doubt, the best room I’ve ever stayed in! In terms of comfort, silence, size… the only issue was that the overhead shower in the bathroom had low water pressure. But the handheld shower was fine. Small suggestion: it would be great to add a fixture to hang the smaller showerhead at a higher position. The location is the best: Trastevere has everything, from restaurants and bars to charming shops and streets, and it’s easy to get anywhere, either on foot or by public transport. I really liked the building, which was residential and typical, and I loved that breakfast was served at a local bakery on the street: it gives you a taste of everyday life, and everything was delicious! Everything was super easy! Next time I’m in Rome, I will definitely stay here again!

Our stay at Ethuska Luxury Apartments was disappointing. There was absolutely nothing luxurious about these apartments. Upon arrival, we found the place very dirty—the toilet needed a good scrub and bathroom was unclean, and there was no toilet paper (thankfully, we had some in our bag). Even the walls were dirty, and the bedside tables had splatters of something white on them. To make matters worse, there was even a dirty knive left by the kettle. Overall, it was just gross. The area didn’t help either—it felt grimy and uninviting. To top it all off, the cost was significantly higher than other, much better accommodations we stayed in during our trip. We definitely wouldn’t stay here again. Save your money and look elsewhere!

In the truest sense of the word, my experience was unbelievable. I’ve never been treated so horribly by any establishment and I mean that by a wide margin. On the final leg of our trip, we were to return to Rome for one final night before our return flight home. Due to an ongoing ground-handler strike, we were informed by our airline that our flight to Rome was canceled and that we would need to seek alternate arrangements. As such, we changed plans to depart Italy a day earlier (ahead of the strike) and would need to cancel our hotel stay. When I messaged the inn I was immediately met with vitriolic language. Though I never once returned the hostility, the hotel personnel proceeded to berate me and make disparaging comments about my background and character. Even after I assured the attendant that I was never seeking a refund but rather just informing, the verbal onslaught continued (see the included screen shots) I wish I had even a lackluster review about pillows or the view to share. Instead, I can only say that the true nature of whomever manages the WhatsApp account of this establishment shone through brightly. In good conscience I could never recommend that anyone stay here and genuinely hope that the staff is addressed directly and promptly. An absolute nightmare of a person.
