"The hotel has self check-in, and the process is quite simple. However, if you book multiple rooms, the system assigns them randomly, so they might not be on the same floor, which is a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, everything else is good."

Hotel Taormina

Hotel Taormina

📍 Via Principe Eugenio, 51, Esquilino, Rome
★★ 8.7 (199 reviews)

"The hotel does not have a lift. We had to carry our suitcases up and there are 24 steps.  There should be a note stating no lift so that people are aware and stay away if they have heavy luggage. There is no service at all and the cleaner wanted to come and clean around 4 pm. I would not come back to stay."

The Cross Hotel

The Cross Hotel

📍 Via di S. Croce in Gerusalemme, 40, Esquilino, Rome
★★★ 8.6 (175 reviews)

"About an 8-minute walk to the nearest metro. The surrounding area isn’t very pleasant—quite dirty, with views of homeless individuals from the window. The lobby and room were overly strongly scented, and the noise insulation was poor; I could clearly hear neighbours closing their doors—the sound was so loud and close that it felt like someone was opening my own door—along with traffic noise from outside."

"The front desk staffs are very kind. It takes 20min from the international airport by bus and walk 10min on foot. The breakfast is OK, there are lots of tea flavour choice."

Smy Aran Blu Roma Mare Hotels in Rome

"A wonderful hotel. Four stars. Service is top-notch. We stayed for three nights. The room was clean and the furniture was decent. But keep in mind that there are houses next to the hotel, practically balcony to balcony. Locals look in on you, and you look at them. There's also some construction going on in Ostia, but the builders are working quietly. They didn't disturb our sleep in the mornings. There's a marina, restaurants, and cafes nearby. There's plenty of room for strolls, and the sea is practically on your doorstep."

Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá Hotels in Rome

Villa Agrippina Gran Meliá

"The service was impeccable and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, from the Prosecco and cake and handwritten note for our 30th Wedding Anniversary, to the attentiveness at breakfast and the immaculate room cleanliness. Breakfast was an incredible spread; cocktails in the bar delicious. Many reviews have said it is the staff and location that makes this hotel 5*. I would agree. My only gripe is that on checking out a ‘discretionary’ €50 was added to our bill (on top of the usual €80 city tax we expected to pay). We like to tip as we go along."

"Very central hotel with windows in via Del Course. A little noisy due to the road but the structure is beautiful and well looked after. Fantastic terrace! It has a SPA"

Nobu Hotel Roma Hotels in Rome

Nobu Hotel Roma

"Birthday Celebration Completely Ruined I stayed at Nobu Hotel Roma from 29 May to 1 June to celebrate my birthday, and sadly what should have been a special occasion turned into one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The first issue was that our room was not cleaned for the entire three days of our stay. For a luxury hotel charging premium prices, this was completely unacceptable. My boyfriend had arranged a birthday cake for me, and we specifically asked for it to be cut and served. Instead, the cake was taken away and thrown in the bin. I was genuinely shocked and upset. It completely ruined what was meant to be a special birthday moment. Breakfast service was also extremely poor, with items arriving separately and the whole experience feeling disorganised and below the standard you would expect from a hotel of this reputation. At checkout, nobody acknowledged the problems we’d experienced, offered an apology, or even assisted us with our luggage. The most upsetting part happened after we left. We received multiple phone calls regarding a deposit that had already been paid in cash at check-in and for which we had a receipt. The way we were spoken to was completely unprofessional and extremely distressing. I felt spoken down to and treated as though we had done something wrong despite having proof that our account had been settled in full. My partner and I have supported the Nobu brand for years, staying at other Nobu properties and dining at many Nobu restaurants across Europe. Because of that, this experience was even more disappointing. For a hotel that promotes itself as a luxury destination, the service, guest care and handling of our concerns fell far below expectations. My birthday was meant to be a happy celebration, but instead it became stressful and upsetting. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience."

InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace by IHG

"I have to give a huge shout-out! When checking in, I asked for a quiet room, and the front desk specifically moved me to one facing the inner courtyard. I also got to order any drink I wanted from the adjacent bar. The room was clean and well-equipped. Breakfast was incredibly rich, with both buffet and à la carte options. The location is convenient, and the service was thoughtful. It was an excellent stay overall!"

Hotel Taormina ★★
"The room was clean, spacious, and located right in the city center. However, if you’re sensitive to noise, it might be a bit uncomfortable because the soundproofing isn’t very good. As for me, I was so tired that I slept well anyway, so I didn’t really care about the noise. There were also many Chinese people and foreigners around the building. It’s close to Roma station, so it’s very convenient."

"spacious room but 8-10 mins walk from Metro or bus The room was spacious and comfortable, offering plenty of space to place luggage, which was a big plus. Room is generally quiet. - The only downside is the location, as it takes about 8–10 minutes to walk to the nearest metro or bus stop. - There was a small fridge but was not cold"
