I have recently returned from a one week stay at this hotel as part of a package holiday with Crystal. The reception team made us feel very welcome and offered refreshments while we checked in. The furniture, decor and finshing touches are impeccable, I especially loved the light fittings, so stylish! This continued to our room on the second floor. Although our room was a little on the small side, it was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the end of a blue run and the main squaure. You really can't fault the location! It was cleaned everyday and there was a turn down service too, we often came back to find sweet treats had been left for us. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was very good. There's a good choice at breakfast, though a lot of the options are bread/cake based. You can order omlettes or poached eggs from the kitchen though and there was always bacon and scrambled eggs available at the buffet. For dinner, we were given an a la carte menu and could choose a starter, main and dessert every night as part of our package. We found the menu stayed the same all week, with the exception of a daily special, usually a different soup, fish of the day and special dessert. A few dishes also required the payment of a supplement. If you weren't willing to try everything on the menu and/or pay supplements, the menu could become a bit repetitive, but we were happy to try everything and were not dissappointed! The pork rib sharing dish was a particular highlight and every single dessert was amazing! There was also an amouse bouche and bread basket served at the start of every meal and petit fours at the end... we felt it was excellent value for money. If you like an easy drinking red wine, the cote du rhone was lovely and only 6 euro per glass. The tap water is also very good and our carafe was kept topped up without asking, this was much appreciated after a busy day on the slopes! All of the staff in the restaurant were attentive and friendly. It is also worth noting that you can visit restaurants at the sister hotel next door (Hotel Val Thorens) using your half board allowance. I had a fab steak at the Val Thoren bistro but sadly we didn't get round to trying the Fondue restaurant, I really wish we had! We visited the hotel spa a few times, unfortunately the steam room was not working for the first few days, which meant the sauna got a bit too busy for my liking but later in the week when both were working it felt less busy and was more enjoyable. The bar in the hotel was OK, a bit pricey (55 euros for a brandy!) but we did enjoy the live music, just a shame it wasn't a bit busier. The boot room was very convenient with easy access to the slopes. All in all we very much enjoyed our time at this hotel and would happily return!

Welcoming and friendly staff. From the check-in to restaurant, luggage, bar..the staff was pleasant and helpful. I felt well and relaxed during the 6 days of our stay. The family suite was lovely and cosy. I felt home with my wife and our 11 years old boy. The location is perfect, everything is just so close. We went skiing every day and the central location with its ski in / ski out make it so easy to stop for lunch or a drink in the sunny terrasse. Strongly recommend.

We have eaten in the restaurant each evening, and whilst the food has not always been perfect - Clement (the waiter) has been amazing. His effort to the table and the passion he shows when serving is admirable. We like having him as our host! One piece of advice - always use notepads when taking orders - may prevent some complications! And once again thank you to Clement.

I spent 2 nights with my 5 year old son. The staff was charming and accommodating, the food is great and the location and facilities are unbeatable. Or as my son said - “wow, everyone are so nice here! Let’s come back here next year too!” We will be back :)

The restaurant was perfect and the people were amazing and very lovely. The waitress Klahar explained to us about the place and even gave us a map with recommendations marks on it, we highly recommend it. We didn’t visit the hotel we stayed somewhere else.

We had a fantastic week in the Fitzroy in Val Thorens. The hotel itself is a medium sized friendly place to stay, the Staff were very attentive and service was excellent. The food and drink were of the highest quality. The location is second to none and is genuine ski-in ski-out hotel. We would definitely return.

Love, love, love, cosy bar, amazing setting, right on piste… even for a beginner! Great place, we will go back :) This hotel has the best hot chocolate too with Frangelico, must try that at home too! Meanwhile the pool and steam room looked great, we will go back, Elle & Ed x

Beware – deposits not returned!!! After checking out over a month ago, I am still chasing for the return of my deposit. The hotel has a very unusual policy – rather than placing a hold on a credit card for incidentals, they insist on drawing down on funds at check in. I was assured this deposit would be returned ‘within a few days of checking out’. It’s now been over a month since check out and the hotel continues to make excuse after excuse, with a barrage of empty promises in an endless email trail of inaccurate assurances and contradictory statements on policy, including: • ‘The holding deposit is released the day following your departure and takes 48 hours to be released from our bank. Then it can take the same duration from your bank to release it on your account.’ • ‘I just checked and everything is in order on our side. The pre-authorization is closed... This is surprising.’ • ‘If you have nothing tomorrow, we will exchange it with our manager and call you.’ • ‘The pre-authorisation has been closed on our side, If the money doesn't arrive, sometimes the problem is the bank, which can take up to 15 days for the money to be credited to your account’ • ‘In any case we can happily confirm you that all the pre-authorization will be automatically released after 30 days from the issue date, so in a few days you’ll be able to see the amount back on your bank account’ But of course, still no funds received and 30 days and counting since check out ! I have sent multiple emails as well as calling the hotel requesting to speak to the manger but no avail. The matter is now with my bank’s dispute team, but everyone should be aware of this cynical and incompetent approach to the hotels handling of deposits.
