This hotel is located on the best beach of the island. It has a nice structure and a very good chef in the kitchen. Unfortunately it is a text book example of how NOT to run a hotel. The receptionist is just about the unfriendliest person on earth who does not know how to smile or great. The waiters at breakfast are permanently on the phone while buffet items run out or coffee cups are empty. The manager is non-existent, during our entire stay he was nowehre to be seen, does not answer the phone and does not read his whatsapp messages. When finally we got a hold of him we found out that he does not speak English at all. Unfortunately we also found out the hard way that most of the rooms seem to have problems with hot water meaning that for 2 days in a row we had to take cold showers until we insisted to change rooms. No one cared, no one took care of the issue and no one showed any sing of trying to compensate us. Not even a bottle of water we got, not even an apology. For the prices charged warm water must be "included" in the rate and not be an optional feature like we were told. Too bad, the location is amazing but staff and non - existent management make this place a really bad experience. Be warned if you go there, nobody cares and there is no hot water!

Worst travel experience of my life!!! Hotel has nothing to do with the photos, horrible location far from the center and not even a taxi wants to go there, unhealthy hotel, shower drops 3 drops and we were informed that there was no hot water, after the arrival of a large group of Colombians they called there was power and there was hot water, that is, we took 3 days of showers with cold water. No respect for silence after 10pm, we spent 4 days without sleeping due to the loud sound of a Colombian group party that went on until 6am, we spoke to the manager who walked away and left us talking. I don't recommend this hotel even to my enemy

It is beautiful and it is located near San Luis beach, the place is beautiful and clean and we were there for a romantic dinner and it was perfect!! The torches could not be placed due to wind issues, but in general everything was very nice, very good attention.

Be careful, as the photos are a compilation of all hotels in the chain. They are all on the island, but they are not part of just one hotel. We stayed at San Luis Place, a little more compact, it doesn't have a pool and the beach to use isn't very nice. However, there was another chain hotel 10 minutes away on Roky Kay beach, which is a better beach to enjoy. San Luis Place is in a very good neighborhood, restaurants, markets and places to take walks very close by. And also Roky Kay beach too.

POSITIVE: It is located on a private beach, lovely gardens, the air conditioning works well, good wifi, the employees are very friendly and work hard. NEGATIVE: It is far from the center (25 minutes by taxi) and few restaurants and attractions nearby. This hotel is in disrepair – in our room the safe didn't work, the only table there was wobbly, the door lock was partially rotted and unsafe, the shower door didn't close completely, and the patio door was broken. Dirty and didn't open. We told maintenance about this, but at the end of our 5 day stay, only the safe was fixed. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen except on a cruise ship. The dining room ceiling is partially rotted. The worst was a layer of algae approximately 15 cm high and 25 cm wide. It was impossible to enter the sea without walking through this. During our stay no one tried to remove it. I understand that buildings near the sea have problems with corrosion from trapped air, and so problems with doors that are difficult to open, are not unexpected, but these problems and the algae problem on the beach can be controlled with good maintenance. I think the administration doesn't care about maintenance. The photos on the website are misleading – perhaps old or photoshopped. The pool is clean, but much smaller than shown on the website. San Andrés is a beautiful place with beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and memorable attractions, and a very attractive center with good restaurants. Next time we will stay closer to the center.
