Very friendly and helpful service, nice beach and convenient location in the middle of island. The hotel offers day trip and airport transport.

Have spent 7 nights at Sinalei and was reading the recent reviews and was a little concerned about staying here. My family (wife and daughter 14 y/o) arrived on the late Auckland flight and had arranged a transfer with the hotel which worked well. On arrival given it was late it was a nice touch they had prepared sandwiches for us in our room. We stayed in a 1 BRM villa OVB and there are a number of villas available the pick of them I think start with BS (short for beachside) which is overlooking the water. We ate at the restaurant mostly and found the food really good and the service was good. Overall the hospitality I felt was authentic not always the sharpest and sometimes a few little quirks came out but did not worry us enough to make us enjoy our stay any less and were so relaxed given the location and beach choice or pool was perfect for us. We bought our own snorkel gear which came in handy as the snorkeling out the front of the villa around to the jetty with the freshwater spring coming up was great. Definitely worth jumping off the jetty into it as it's a deep hole. You can hire rentals through the hotel for circa 150 tala a day and also the resort does tours which I think you should book in advance. Apia is around 40 mins by car and the ocean trench around 35 minutes and well worth the drive. We would stay here again and really liked the relaxed vibe of the place it is definitely not a commercial or corporate resort and if you are somewhat laidback the little quirks you will overlook and see the location and genuine nature of the staff come through and enjoy it.

Had seen some of the recent reviews and was a little worried, but thankfully for us at least we found the resort perfect for the 3 of us (husband/wife & 14 yo daughter). Was very clean and the restaurant food has been great and of a high quality and I could not fault it. Harrys bar by the pool with the 3 o’clock afternoon tea was a nice touch. The staff were really authentic and caring. It’s not a commercial resort but found the location and amenities perfect for us and would definitely like to return and felt lucky to have found Sina Lei thanks to Luxury Escapes.

We stayed at Sinalei Reef Resort. After being recommended it we found it very run down, really run down for the prices they are charging, not worth it. Rooms were old, tiles old, showers old and very very dated, linen old and you could tell it was musty. The tiles were old and depressing and the air con rattled all the time. No TV, No Phones and No Mini Bar.. On our last night my wife went to the toilet and nearly got bitten by a centerepede so please watch out for kreepy crawlers. Food at the Ava I Toga when it did decide to open was bland and tasteless. Really crap food for high end prices. From the fish of the day to the steak it was FROZEN FOOD. FROZEN. HORRIBLE. STAFF FRIENDLY but had no idea on high end service and how to handle complaints. Lastly watch out for the the owner, an elderly bold headed chap who was more interested in chatting up my wife then he was about the crappy resort service, food, rooms and over all CRAP service he was promoting. WE WILL NEVER EWTURN AND WE URGE YOU TO GO ELSE WHERE AND AVOID SINALEI. Coconuts, Seabreeze were better options and we wish we had booked there and not gone to Sinalei which was poor, old, crap and over rated. NOT 5 START BUT MORE 2 STAR....WATCH OUT FOR THE OWNER OLDER CHAP

We stayed at Sinalei Reef Resort for a few nights after a horrible experience at the Tanoa Hotel in Apia. Our initial thoughts were to escape the issues we had at the Tanoa Hotel of Dirty Rooms, Rude staff, Poor Food menus and Rude staff. We had looked on line and reviewed Sinalei as a place we could indulge in before flying back to Fiji on our way back to Sydney. How wrong were we to choose Sinalei. Not only was it triple the price per night but fell way below our expectations. Where do I start on the negatives........We arrived, took an hour for them to check us in, lady that checked us in was pleasant but had no idea on time, we were then handed our Key, they had no electronic keys to rooms, we found our way to a beach bungalow, gardens were nicely manicured but the room was DATED, DATED, very old and in need of a refurbishment, for he prices they charge this was not HIGH END, MORE 2 STAR. Ive travelled the world with my wife and this was below par. Im big on fresh crisp linen but am afraid Sinalei had old duvets, old pillows which you could smell the mustiness of the previous guest, pillows were old, mouldy. Sheets old as well as seemed they had Been there for years on end. Open aired tower was full of mosquitos and at night where you had the lights on in the room attached an array of colourful insects including centrerpedes and millipedes. Pool area was lovely and fresh. Bar service at Uncle Harrys bar was poor, had to go up each time and ask the bar staff to serve you a drink, much of the Time they were playing Island music which was fine but if your paying top dollars you would expect decent service. We at all our meals here, not bad but not fresh either. I had the steak and my partner the fish on our first night, both items were not fresh at all. Took nearly two hours for the mains to come and were were one of three couples dining. Next day we had breakfast and I ordered the eggs scrambled, Im pretty sure the eggs were pre powdered eggs as this did not taste like scrambled eggs. On our last day we met the owner as he said he was, my partner food him very sleezy, elderly chap who took more attention to her then our comments and views on how he could better the resort. Overall a nice setting but rooms need a major upgrade, major as it is not 5 start but more 2 star, service needs a major overhaul as does the POOR FOOD. Dated................and NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY ARE CHARGING.

An intimate resort offering a quiet relaxed atmosphere, beautiful gardens and pool, delicious food and warm Samoan hospitality. Sinalei Reef Resort has a beautiful beach. It is in a great location close to the major tourist attractions. Te Sua trench, Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, Giant Clam Marine reserve and numerous waterfalls are all within a 40mins drive. One of the many highlights of our stay for me was dining at the overwater restaurant with 4 turtles swimming around us. We loved our time at the resort and in Samoa

This is our second time staying at Sinalei, and we will be back again. This place is heaven! Special thank you to Sam and Tasi who made our stay extra special with their warm, friendly, professional and knowledgeable help every day! The rooms are really comfortable, landscaping and property are stunning, food is delicious, and such wonderful staff at the restaurant. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Just returned from spending 5 nights at this resort. It was the low season so very quiet which we enjoyed. We stayed in a Beachfront Villa which had spectacular views and was well appointed. The resort and gardens are beautiful and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner Joe who was engaging and friendly. We would recommend this resort to stay at. Its location on the other side of the island was no problem as we had a hire car and all the places we visited were less than an hour away.
