Same, but this time the room assigned is not nice. So noisy with poor sound isolation

A hotel with a very convenient location to Chinatown area, complimented with extreme rudeness of the staff, and unprofessionalism of the reception. Be sure to bring cash as apparently the deposit refund to a card being warned to be a month by the receptionist. As soon as we arrived, we were queuing to be checked in, and the bald indian guy told us to wait inside and will be called when their ready, so we did, after a while we realized no one called us and the reception has served no one at the time. We managed to check in, but during the check in process, the reception did not explain anything regarding the hotel such as check out time, wifi, location of the room, so if you are not type of person who like to look around the wall, this might not be the place for you. The bed is not in great quality, more of sofa bed quality thickness ( pictures attached). The pillow case smells like undried laundry and not even pressed. We went downstairs to the reception to find the table unattended, we spoke to the housekeeper which just left us without saying a word. We waited for a bit, and then my husband tried to find a piece of paper to leave them a note as we were leaving for dinner then the bald guy screamed from the other end of the room and talking in raised and rude tone that we were not allowed to enter the reception area which we understood and apologized, then he repeated the rude and raised tone and told us if anything happend there it would be our fault and they kept cash there, I found it quite disrespectful as they could have told us nicely and asked what we needed instead of screaming towards us like we were some kind of animal especially after we apologized. And to be quite fair, if the designated area is very important it should not have been left unattended at anytime. if the guest cross the line by accident , a kind warning can be given not some street tone with no manners. it's also quite offending to mention that anything happen it would be us as we were bunch of thieves. I highly recommend this place if you would like rude service with touch of no manner on top. The room is cramped, doesn't look like the pictures, the lobby area is quite nice though. and with the price you pay for this hotel, you can find somewhere better within the area. The air conditioning also leaked, and the receptionist staff told us that the aircon max temperature is 20 before it leaks and all their room are the same. But after she changed the tempt to 20 it still leaking. So, if you like your room to be warm ish or just lightly cool, this place will be suitable for u, as the aircon can't cool the small room even after 2,5 hours being turned on. This hotel not meet my expectations and I reckon many others would agree looking at the google reviews and other third party agent page reviews. I really don't know which person expectations and standards will be happily fulfill with it. After staying here, I read the previous review with similar experience, especially with the bald indian guy and also the malay lady, all the hotel reponses mention they'll investigate on the review, but seems like a ******** as the service still clearly the same. But, if you like challenge on your holiday, feel free to try.

The Worst hotel experience ever. I went there to check in on Friday. The Indian and malay female staff were very rude. They scolded me because I was slow to give my IC and Booking ID and I had to call the police to come down and lodge a report against them. both the staff did not apologize. I then call trip.com and trip gave me a refund back in trip coins which I then used to book another much better hotel at Robertson. The hotel calmo staff even told the police that they wanted to give me a refund but trip.com did not want to give and that was a lie because trip.com wanted to refund me but the hotel did not want to refund. Such a shady hotel staff practice. They even ask me to call the hotel manager and guess what the name card provided the number was not even in use.
On Saturday, trip told me that the booking at hotel calmo is still ongoing and I asked them if they could let my father stay. Which they replied can. So i went there with my dad and uncle. The hotel indian female staff was so rude again. She said that because I left they gave the room to someone else. What a lousy hotel. So i called trip.com again, and trip.com called the hotel and then the hotel mention that my father can stay there.
I swear I will never ever want to stay or book here again. It's the worst hotel in SG. Book at your own risk. If I can give negative 100 stars I will give. It does not even deserve a 1 star rating.

The hotel staff charge us on my credit card SG 100 for deposit upon check-in until now still no refund almost 2 months ago when we check-out.

It's the worst hotel
- room very dirty
- The male receptionist has no service mind

I had a wonderful stay at hotel calmo. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure all my needs were met. My room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. Location is nice, room is quite small but we managed to fit our luggage with a little bit of tetris skills lol, Hot water didn't last we have it the first 2 days of our stay only dunno why. Place is recommended if you want everything near you very near in maxwell, chinatown complex, lau pa sat (for hawkers) old nanyang coffee, maxwell station and chinatown station (for mrt/bus) and all touristy stuff walking distance or just 1-3 stops away via bus or mrt. Easy check in and check out just prepare 100 SGD cash for deposit, they give it back upon check out.
