Chablé Maroma

We stayed at Chablé Maroma over New Year’s, expecting a luxurious and relaxing 5-star experience, but unfortunately, the reality fell far short of this standard. While the staff were consistently friendly and tried their best, the overall service did not meet the expectations of a high-end hotel. The rooms were a major disappointment. They are dark and situated in buildings with one room stacked above the other, leading to significant noise from the rooms above—far from the tranquil and relaxing ambiance one hopes for. Privacy was also an issue, as the pathways run very close to the rooms, contributing to both noise and a lack of seclusion. Although the rooms appeared clean at first glance, there were spider webs under the bathroom vanity, and the bed linens did not smell fresh. Additionally, the decor felt cold and impersonal, missing the warm and inviting touch you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber. The dining experience was another letdown. We attended the New Year’s Eve dinner, which was described as a grand celebration but turned out to be underwhelming. The evening began with a cocktail party, which we anticipated would include lively music, creative drinks, and small bites. Instead, it was just an ordinary bar experience with average bites being passed around. The Maya ceremony that followed was pleasant but very brief. The dinner itself—a three-course meal served in a tent on the beach—was incredibly basic, with uninspired and poorly executed food. Despite the live band and DJ trying to set the mood, the evening lacked energy and felt quite boring. We also dined at the hotel’s Bu’ul restaurant, where the experience was equally disappointing. The service was painfully slow, taking over 30 minutes just to order drinks, and the food—particularly the meat—was poorly cooked and of low quality. We spent three and a half hours at the restaurant and left deeply unsatisfied. The Kaban restaurant, where we had lunch, fared slightly better, but the food was still far from refined or memorable. The hotel facilities were similarly underwhelming. The pool and beach are beautiful, but beach service was slow, and we often had to wait a long time to place an order. The concierge service was another sore point; when we asked for restaurant recommendations outside the hotel, they could not provide a single suggestion and instead directed us to OpenTable—something we could easily have done ourselves. Turn-down service was often forgotten, and we had to remind them several times. Finally, on our last morning, I planned to use the gym but found it closed without any explanation. The gym itself is outdated and quite small, which was disappointing. There were also issues with wine service—bottles were often not served at the correct temperature, and overall attention to detail in this regard was lacking. In comparison, our previous stay at Chablé Yucatán was a world apart, offering a truly refined and luxurious experience. Chablé Maroma, unfortunately,

This hotel is true genuine luxury. Privacy, space, cleanliness, with kind and excellently trained staff who obviously enjoy working there. The rooms (villas) are wonderful, modern, spacious and very well furnished. The bed is perfect and sleep comes very easily, because there is no noise whatsoever. Unlike the overcrowded noisy hotels / resorts that are competing for your attention, you can properly relax. The beach is outstanding. Pure white sand, protected by a reef, so the waves weren’t big. Beautiful warm water and no rocks like elsewhere on the riviera Maya. It is better than we could have imagined. The food was excellent with a fine dining restaurant and a more relaxed alternative but with an equally good menu. Well made cocktails on the rooftop bar, looking out at the ocean and the sunset. The breakfast (included) was truly top notch, with fresh fruit (wonderful mangoes), and Mexican and European options. Do not hesitate because the price here is truly very very good value. It’s not cheap, but comparing other resorts, this easily comes out on top. Another comparable hotel charges 12 dollars for a small bottle of water in the hotel mini-bar, whereas here, things are included without question. So, when comparing hotels / resorts, you must instead look at what you are really getting for your money. Choose wisely, we didn’t at first: the truth is that we booked/stayed somewhere else and were bitterly disappointed, quickly cancelled and asked to move here. I simply cannot believe the difference in quality / value for money for what initially seems like a similar price. We knew that Chablé Maroma would be good, as we had recently stayed at the Chablé Yucatan (it was so good we extended our stay). Our only regret is that we were seduced by the advertising photos of another resort, which was not nearly as good as advertised. Chablé Maroma (and Yucatan) was even better than the photos and delivered a truly fantastic experience for us. Without a doubt, the perfect luxury beach resort. We already want to go back.

We did not even get there!! They are awful. For a 5star resort this is horrendous!! They would not give us a refund nor a credit for future use! I suffered a skiing injury 2 weeks before our trip! They requested a doctors note which I supplied and they would not even credit us for a future stay. We lost thousands of dollars.

Beautiful resort, excellent staff and the food was over the top good! Highly recommend it! We enjoy privacy and the villas are exceedingly private and sparsely spaced around the property. The beach is beautiful and the beach service is outstanding. We never felt that having the three restaurants on property were at all limiting, they had great menu's with lots of options.

I would love to review this hotel , however, Just 2 weeks before we very due to fly to Mexico on a three week trip the hotel cancelled our reservation with no explanation. It was the end of our trip to three other cities in Mexico with multiple internal flights, restaurant bookings and guides so we very unable to simply cancel the whole trip. It took a whole stressful week for our agents to persuade the hotel to provide us with alternative accommodation. The hotel we were eventually were offered was everything we did not want very large hotel full of American families with multiple children enjoying spring break. The chable being a boutique hotel with very few rooms. So beware this hotel does not care about its ordinary guests.

I’ve been on this planet 57 years, accumulated more than a million air miles, visited many continents and stayed at the worlds top hotels but this was by far the best vacation I have EVER had. Everything was exceptional. The room, the staff, the pool, the spa, the beach and the food were all 5 star and luxurious. The Temazcal ceremony was an experience I will never forget for the rest of my life. BOOK IT!! ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
