I recently stayed at Lorenzzo Diocletian's Palazzo, and it was hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel. Here's why: No One at the Reception Upon arrival at 8 pm, the door was locked and no one was at the reception. After ringing the doorbell multiple times, I had to call a number on a sign to speak with a manager who barely spoke English. Unsafe Room Codes The manager gave me codes to enter the hotel and my room. The problem? The codes are ridiculously simple (Room 1 = 1111, Room 2 = 2222), making it easy for anyone to guess. Uninvited Guests To my shock, I found a stranger sleeping in my bed and my belongings thrown out in the corridor. After much hassle, I was moved to another room, only to have a hotel employee walk in on me the next morning without knocking! Security Issues Even after demanding a code change, which they couldn't do, I was given a key. Later that night, someone tried to enter my room using the code again! Noice at night The walls are paper thin and a woman was screaming in the corridor at 2 o'clock in the morning. As there was no staff at the so-called hotel, I had to wait her out before I could go back to sleep. If you care about your safety, sanity, or your belongings, stay away from this place.
